And he DID (or so it would seem) until Boner spit in his face (again, for the thousandth time)
Just like last three times when all the panic peeps JUST KNEW he'd sold medicare and SS down the fucking river. REMEMBER??? The ONE thing this President KNOWS is that even if he promised to cut his own throat in the middle of a KKK rally while ending ALL taxes for all the rich shitsucking cretins in the world, THE FUCKING REPUBLICANS WILL ALWAYS SAY NO. He just told them to "take me out of it" And, he knows as do I, that even IF they accepted major cuts to SS and Medicare and Medicaid, that it will NEVER get through the Senate. They all serve for life if they can get re-elected. Killing SS and gutting Medicare is NOT the way to do that. This isn't three dimensional chess. This is the President putting the turd back in their pocket Calm down. Have a sandwich and a nice glass of milk. Or a beer.

1. We've seen this before
|
He mentions some concession or other and the Republicans think they've got him on the ropes and move the goalposts. First, it was to get that tax increase above $250,000, then $400,000, and now it's $1,000,000 a year! Do I hear two? Five?
Looks like rope a dope to me, proof positive that Republicans have lost their minds and that no deal is possible. So we'll fall off the cliff. I'll pay more taxes, you might not, and I'll also be upping my donation to Second Harvest this year. They are going to need it with food stamps being cut at least during January and probably February. |

because the cuts are across the board and the generals and arms manufacturers are going to be screaming their heads off at Congress. That will likely put Obama into a much stronger position.

Last edited Thu Dec 20, 2012, 10:04 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) I understand correctly. So at least on January 1, 2013, no one's food stamps are going to be eliminated or even cut back. Now that may change as the year continues. But at least for now, the poor are not being thrown under the bus because of the failure of the Rape-publi-scum to negotiate in good faith.
Not to discourage you from donating to Second Harvest, just that food stamps are exempt from cuts at least for now. |

He was "agonized" ... as to which way he might go ... positive or negative. But he was not sure.
Here on DU, there has been great agony. Regardless of what the actual deal was, agony, agony, agony. The predictions here on DU that Obama is "about" to kill Social Security go back at least 3 years. Any second, its going to happen. They pop up ever few months. DU explodes. Then nothing. The last 2 weeks, the prediction has been that it was absolutely, positively, going to happen this time. DU has been on fire with that prediction. And now? |

and who isn't intellectually dishonest knows the pukes won't accept any offer from Obama on the fiscal cliff, and Obama knows this better than anyone. John Boehner can't accept any deal before the new Congress if he wants to protect his speakership. Sad, but true.

50. If you want to see how badly the President has screwed the Republicans tomorrow tune into

Rush Limbaugh. He's practically having a heart attack on the air. In the end the President is going to get 90% of what he wants and the middle class tax cuts will be the Obama tax cuts and the rich will be paying higher rates, with substantial defense cuts and no debt ceiling votes. |

A real fan of President Obama does not CuttenRun 3 times a week
Obama roped the dopes again.Just like he did in the 1st debate. Mitt threw everything at him, and by the time of the 2nd and 3rd, nothing was there but how utterly bad Mitt was. and I am sick and tired of these fair weather fans. I would hate to have any of them watching my back. I would turn around and oops, they would not be there. They would be voting for republicans just to spite the President, even though logically that makes about as much sense as John McCain thinking he picked a woman, therefore Sarah=Hillary. But then I am not surprised as I was here after the first debate, and well person to person same freaking thing as that night. It is why I now only watch Al Sharpton and have turned all the others off 100%. I no longer care about any of the others. They proved their worth that night after the first debate, and that includes Ed and Rachel. And I saw what CuttenRunners did to LBJ which led to every bad thing after that and saw it again by the CuttenRunners running to Nader(especially up in NH) in 2000. Their bullshit whining directly led to Bush winning, irregardless of Florida mess that happened a month later. |
