Both sides are disatisfied with a compromise, But

The only thing the Repugs are upset about is that Fucking Millionaires might have to pay any taxes.

1. I think that we should ALL

just refuse to allow the government to take SS and Medicare taxes out of our paychecks until they stop this nonsense.

5. I don't think "we" can do that

theoretically employers could, but they would be subject to stiff federal fines and probably other legal risk if they tried to take such an action. Not realistic IMO.

4. Why do I want to contribute to something

that I will be penalized for collecting? If I can stop my 401k contributions then I sure as hell should be able to stop these too.

8. Nope. Your employer's HR will tell you it is not an option.

You have every right not to participate in a 401k plan, not so these payroll contributions.

On the other hand, you could file an amended W-4 form, claiming you believe you will not have enough earnings to have to pay tax. Assuming an employer that knows better would accept and act on it, the minute you signed it "Under penalties of perjury, I declare..." you will have broken the law and opened yourself up to penalties and other legal ramifications.
