2. Seconded

We can talk policy without demonizing one another.

4. Were none of your guns in movies?

There's several web pages out there, you can check.

This is the only one of mine that's "famous." Now, for two reasons.

16. Yes - let's do this

Gun idolatry is all the rage in the Gungeon.

Gungeoneers fawned endlessly over The Precious.

Why not bring it to GD?

Was it you who used to post polls that Robb is a dingbat?

6. Not everyone who owns a gun is a killer and

all gun-owners are not responsible for what happened in Connecticut. I'm very anti-gun, but people have a right to own them whether I like it or not. That's not to say that certain weapons should be banned. I find it childish and lame to demonize everyone who owns a gun.

I might be, come to think of it.

13. Maybe you have a need

because that gun makes you feel, not guilty, but weird when you look at it. Sort of like confession is good for the soul, but you didn't do anything.

15. Something like that.

I haven't actually looked at it in quite some time -- I keep firearms disassembled, with the pieces and ammunition scattered and hidden. Zero chance of curious hands accidentally discharging something.

More like a disbelief in coincidence, an echo of the feeling you get being in a house where someone died -- that perhaps I need to do more to help prevent this sort of thing.

17. No, people do not have a "right" to own them.

Guns are completely unnecessary. Their only purpose is to kill. Grow the fuck up.

8. In Gungeon, it is common when one of these massacres occurs for a few of the gun cultists

to ask what gun the f&*ker used even before the number of dead were known.

I swear to god, some folks are just sick when it comes to guns. Sans guns, they are likely nice people -- I guess.

Hopefully we'll see less of a celebration of guns in movies, but that would probably cut viewership in half.

9. Constructive!

Stupidity like this is why it's impossible to have a real conversation about guns.

10. No it's impossible because of a worship of the gun

Because for the last several days, I've been having a "real conversation" about guns. The same tired threadbare arguments that have been used after every single massacre were trotted out again, and shot down again, and will be the excuse for doing nothing, again. Even the NRA appears to be caving, claiming (for now) that they'll do anything to prevent something like this from happening again.

But the Pro Gun folks will trot out the same tired arguments like every time. 99.99% of the gun owners are not criminals. Yet that .01% is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths every year. The only other nations that have that kind of body count from guns are in the midst of a civil war.

So we'll give up, and we'll wait, and in a few weeks, or months, we'll see again where some douche slaughters dozens of innocents, and we'll again wring our hands, and talk about how nothing can be done. It's just too hard.

Australia essentially banned guns, and their murder rate has dropped dramatically. But we won't learn from that, instead dooming our fellow beings to being the victim of the state of the art of slaughter.

It is impossible to have the discussion, because too many of us have bought the NRA crap hook, line, sinker, pole, boat, and dock.
