Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

The media can really be unhelpful. The local news is reporting that a "bullet" was found today on

a school bus in Hillsborough County. A "bullet" alone is not particularly dangerous, whether it is spent or unfired. A bullet in a cartridge is a whole different thing. I am wondering why they did not give more information and if it was a live round, why they didn't say that?

2. Like covering fire emergencies

Most reporters have no idea on weapons. I say that as a reporter.

3. They get their infomation from cops, who should know the difference. This leads me

to think it was a bullet.
