16. You're right. No way will she step down because of illness. It would ruin her chances for 2016.

Besides, the Republicans are going to try to have it both ways regarding her health situation.. They are already accusing her of faking the concussion to avoid testifying about Benghazi. But, if she convinces them that her condition is real, they will then say that she is too frail to run for president later.

3. Hillary Clinton won’t testify on Benghazi after fainting, concussion

http://www.politico.com/story/2012/12/hillary-clinton-faints-suffers-concussion-85121.html?hp=f3

Clinton, 65, cancelled a trip to the Middle East and North Africa earlier this week because she had been suffering from a stomach flu.

Clinton’s fainting episode took place earlier this week, State spokesman Philippe Reines said Saturday, although he did not give additional details.

10. I am well aware of the event.

I just think the OP is rather odd.

4. not unless "a proper night's sleep would be nice" counts as "health reasons".

6. I think Bill might talk her into it.

If you're so exhausted that you're having bouts of stomach flu and fainting, you really should rethink your schedule, no matter who you are.

11. Really?

And how does it relate to the regular flu that they make vaccines against?

13. "Stomach flu" is not influenza

It's gastroenteritis caused by a virus often Norovirus, the "cruise ship bug" that spreads by close contact or improper food handling. Usually not that severe but can cause dehydration which could have led to her fainting episode.

15. Thank you for the clarification.

I easily get confused by some things.

"Stomach flu" is one of them.

12. I sure hope not.

Hillary is not a quitter. If she were to step down before a new SOS is confirmed, then that would mean that there's something really wrong. I hope that after a week of rest she fully recovers.

14. She's stepping down in January.

Don't think the reason matters at this point.
