It's not his wealth, it's that he was a corporate raider and put thousands of people on the street and TAXPAYERS had to sweep up after him!
About his wealth. Jesus.

(4,919 posts)...which is not normally a quality one would seek for an interviewer/analyst...
Every question is black or white, yes or no, agree or disagree. He never asks "Why?"
If it's not this, then it must be that never a shade of grey.
He loves "pinning down subjects" or asking them to "draw a line in sand"... It's infuriating to listen to him.
Maybe he really does think this way.
Or, maybe he's trying too hard to follow in Tim Russert's footsteps by setting up and gathering a library of "hard quotes" by guests that he hopes will be zingers when guests return in the future. I remember Russert pulling out zinger quotes from the past, but I don't recall his interviewing style to be annoying. David Gregory is such a desperado.

(13,390 posts)That's what separates him from the other candidates in this primary.
There are republican voters with populist tendencies and he stands out as a symbol of the 1%. Newt successfully made his wealth an issue and it snowballed when he wouldn't release his tax returns.
