dog found 2 years later, 830 miles from home

I wonder what the dog's been up to?

Oregon Dog Who Went Missing Surfaces in a Utah Canyon

Sara was 830 miles from home when she was discovered wandering at the base of a canyon. The Border Collie mix was staying with family friends when she disappeared three years ago. "I was in incredible shock,” says owner Kristin Riccitti about getting the call that Sara had been found. Riccitti secured Sara a lift with some friends of friends, and at the end of the long trip, the dog’s reunion with her family was caught on camera. — Watch it at Fox 12 Oregon

3. K&R! Very cool story!

Coincidentally, my dog was also named Sara, though she was a terrier mix. She was found as a stray in Ohio and was part of an "underground railroad" that brought dogs to rescue groups here in NY and Vermont. I've always wondered where she came from since she was such a nice dog that I figured someone, somewhere must be missing her. But she found a "forever home" with me...

7. Thank you!

Such a sweet dog and I've always been grateful that she found me. Here's my favorite pic of Sara, just back from the groomer. Those ribbons didn't last long, but I managed to get a pic...

Sara

5. Awww, it's like a real life Homeward Bound

Such a great story.

I don't know why, but every time I have seen Homeward Bound I have cried at the end when Shadow hobbles up the hill. I don't know why I get so emotional - it's a happy ending!

I am still missing Hershey, my family's dog who had to be put down a year ago.

8. I heard about a cat once . . .

That disappeared in Florida and turned up in California eight years later. Glad Sara found her way home.
