1. How about training unemployed as security and

placing one in every school and mall. Of course we can't do that we have to use that money for a tax break for the 1%.

2. I'm not going to go into all the numerous reasons why this is ridiculous because...

....saying anything else would be in bad taste.

But I will say "Oh Broooother"

3. In what way is this a bad idea?

Seriously? What is wrong with having an additional level of protection for children?

FTR, I thought of going into business making/marketing these a few years back. Didn't think people would buy them, due to the cost.

4. My daughter played hide and seek with me every night before bedtime for about ten years

It was part of our ritual, she would hide and when I found her I then read a bedtime story.

She got very good at hiding in that time.

Personally I think that was of more use protecting her from a rampage shooter in school (or anywhere else for that matter) than a bulletproof backpack.

5. hmm, let's see-kids remove their backpacks in the classroom, and that damned backpack isn't

going to prevent them from getting shot from the front or side, now is it?

here's an idea--why don't we just put all the kids in chain mail--like the knights of old? goodness knows, the rennie armourers would probably appreciate the jobs.
