2. No Chris Jansing even corrected Rev Al

Said she was killed before he went to the school, killed the Principal and Counselor and then slaughtered the children.

The weapons were legally purchased and licensed to the mother-oops!

3. I thought they weren't sure--the victim at the house is a female but...

they're not sure who she is as of now because she was shot in the face and they can't identify her yet.

12. Lived with his mother

Killed her and then headed for the school.
Looks like I was wrong - his brother said he had a history of mental problems

7. Wow.

It had been assumed all afternoon that the person found at the home was the guy's brother.

10. So we know now...

... that the gun was legally purchased, illegally obtained by a nutcase that had no business having access to it, and went nutz with it.
How is this the guns' fault? If it wasn't that gun it may have been another... or a grenade... or a molotoff cocktail
Access to guns by nutbags needs to be stopped. A lock would have gone a long way...

11. do you not think that easy access to guns makes such an event waaaaaay more likely?

15. Yes it does

Keyword here is access.
No access... much harder to commit the crime.
Yes, the gun was legally purchased, but adequate precautions after the sale were not taken.
Who's to say the son didn't talk the mother into buying the gun for him?
She should have known her son better.
Somehow, I don't see a mother, who is also a teacher of elementary school kids as the type to buy an assault weapon.
Possible flag? Was the son with the mother at the time of purchase? Did the salesman notice the interest level of the son vs. the mother?
Either way, the shooter had illegal posession of the gun(s).
The gun did nothing but what is was supposed to do... fire a projectile. The weilder made the decision when and what at.

14. Locks have keys.. 20-yr olds are resourceful

Could y'all just give the gun-worship a little rest for a while...or maybe load up your glock & go target practicing.,.or maybe shoot some woodland creature (run little critters..run)

I know you love your guns & probably have 2nd amendment wallpaper in your john..but jeez-louise...give it a rest ..

18. Love Guns?

Not especially.
I love the RIGHT to own guns.
With that right comes responsiblity
I own a couple. Registered legally.
I also own a bow.
Going on and on?
No more than others wanting bans that don't address the problem.
Just for the record, I despise what the NRA is doing.

17. it would NOT have been a grenade

guns facilitate impulsive violence.

it wasn't a molotov cocktail. or a knife. or a golf club. or a car. or a swimming pool. access to hand grenades is restricted. take that weak false equivalency argument back to your bunker.
