i've been lurking for a while but this convo made me register. This subject pisses me off to no end and i'm really fucking tired of the media and their careless behavior in naming people left and right in tragedies. You'd think after Richard Jewell (who sued them just like this Ryan Lanza will), the News corps would have more sense than to just name someone without research. Just like most corporations, the media cares about making money and a tragedy brings in more viewers and readers than anything else. I live in Hoboken and the police chief said that there was misinformation in the media's reports. Ryan Lanza is not the shooter, he was at work. The killer may have been his younger brother, who is being described as "developmentally disabled".
