1. Hell am not calm. I can't stop crying. People seem numb to me. Like they can't believe it.

I am think gee it feels like how the early settlers had to deal with things. You know like the wild west. Just unbelievable.

2. I would guess that many of the people involved are in as much shock as we are, and have gone into

robot mode in order to keep doing their jobs.

3. I totally agree! It's numb and unfeeling, this is horrific

and the coverage is matter of fact.

4. Well, they are supposed to

remain professional, and they can't report anything if they are crying or freaked out.
Their voices are a bit shakey.

6. Yep. I'm listening to Ed Schultz

There have been several times I thought he stopped himself from crying on air. He's definitely pissed off, and not hiding that. I can't comment on anyone else right now, because I'm not watching/listening to anyone else/

5. The purpose is to downplay it

the media doesn't want public opinion to change on this issue, so they will try to mold it the best they can or damper it. But given what has happened I think it will prove to be futile IMVHO.

7. Fear of copy cats

Shooting in Portland may have given this soulless . . .thing the idea to do it.

8. Yeah, I'd like to see a lot more hysteria and emotional reporting

It would accomplish so much.

I can understand people being upset about little kids getting killed. What's so special about being near new York?
