If WalMart bought Hostess brands, would you still buy them?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/13/hostess-bidders-walmart_n_2295760.html

Since I don't have my little star I can't make a poll anymore. But that's ok. Point remains should we feed this beast or not?

1. It's been a good 25 years since I last bought any of that.

so it wouldn't matter who bought them out-I still wouldn't buy any of those.

8. Easily 25 years--maybe more... So, I can't really imagine doing so...

Independent of who owns them.

I am fortunate and live in Tastykake land, no need to buy inferior junk food

3. If Walmart buys Hostess Brands, then I couldn't buy them

Is this a trick question?

How would anyone buy Hostess Brands if Walmart has already bought them?

4. I do not eat crap so who makes the crap really does not matter

Someone should just tell Hostess we don't need their shit anymore and let it go. The stuff is nasty and has always been nasty even 40 years ago when I would stuff entire ding dongs in my mouth just because I could.

6. I was in the supermarket this morning, and lo and behold

some new brand I never heard of has an exact duplicate line of all the hostess/drakes that was never in the store before.

I have worked all year losing weight, exercising and hell no, I won't eat any of these things ever again.

But its comforting to see they will still be around, I do admit, even if I don't eat them

And isn't that really why hostess went out of business. They are a relic of another time, when people smoked in movie theatres and concerts and we ate crap like this

Next time I am in store I will try to look to see what brand it is.

(no its not little debbie's)

11. Ditto... I've been moderately low carb eating/focused on healthy for six months now...

I find it easy to avoid these things now that my cravings are managed and further, knowing something is ultimately available, even if I have no intentions now or in the future of eating it.

10. That's the problem with most boycotts, at this point most of the people that care

enough to support them already don't do business with the targets of the boycott.

12. Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a Tastycake.

I'm sorry for all the union guys that got screwed at Hostess but I never gave them my custom.

Tastycake is literally five blocks from my house.

19. the only way I knew

was we had a breadstore that sold all Hostess stuff.
so I was able to stock up some. the last day
it was crazy in there. Felt really sorry for the
2 girls that worked there. Good people, now
the only place to buy bread is the store (3-4.00 per loaf)
or make it. Think I may get a bread machine for Christmas.

18. No, one it's a matter of principle, and yes I did buy their products.

Also they will probably use even cheaper ingredients, like their store brands.

24. I doubt anyone really eats those things. They're just in cast of nuclear attack, not?

Here I thought they last forever, so you put them in the closet until Doomsday.
Anyone need a few boxes, available after Dec. 21.
