4. Her experience is not in foreign affairs.....

We need her desperately in the Senate both in terms of the numbers for the majority as well as her firebrand on the Senate Banking Committee.

Further, she doesn't have the credentials for State. I'm not saying she couldn't do a terrific job but think she needs to sow her oats, get experience, and maybe in a few years she would be right for that job.

Ideally, you shouldn't just be pulling names out of your -- umm -- hat for high level positions.

12. You are the only person I know of that would go out of their way to fuck up a wet dream.

Of course, now that we have got a freshman Senator that not only understands what is going on Wall Street and has just received the Majority Leaders assignment on a committee where she might actually be able to do some good, you come in with the brilliant idea of putting her into a job where she has no experience and will serve as nothing more than a puppet for the one person in DC that has no need of her talents.

Bravo. Could you please join the republican party right now, they desperately need your advice.

13. It's Ironic, I like your response, the one in the other thread you wrote last night

not only do I like it, I agree with it.

It's appropros to today's events, when one thinks about it, like I did BEFORE I put up this thread in an odd sort of way, even though I only read your other response now, hours after putting this up.

while it may not be a brick in the wall, it can be a piece of the very large all encompassing puzzle
But that entails a clue that also corresponds to a second thread I wrote while watching the concert the other night.

Which would again make me say, as Alanis Morrissette sang "Isn't it Ironic"
(a clue) and its interesting that it is almost exactly this time I really became aware of that song that year, a very, very interesting year in American History, which is actually now
very "Ironic" compared to today.

(a very circular rebus I would think).

I was wondering if someone would make mention of that on DU but as the weeks have gone on, no one has.

and I can truly say Don't you think that indeed is "Ironic"???

15. Really?

Let's just forget the fact that the woman & democrats spent millions to get her elected for one minute.....

The woman is a consumer advocate for the public against big banks. Why would she even be qualified to serve as a foreign policy confident to the president? She doesn't even have the experience. She wouldn't even get a seat on the Foreign Policy senate committee. She did get a seat on the Senate Banking committee which is very difficult to do for freshman senators.

Again forgetting the fact that the woman & democrats spent millions to get her elected for one minute more.....

If Obama were to appoint her to any position it would be something banking related.

19. It's a 9 step (ahead) program. My angle is the continuation of President Barack Obama forever.

when we have the best, why do we need the rest (to paraphrase the thingy on any box of pizza across this great land of ours).

My game is obvious.

So is the ones on the other teams. Though they don't admit it is a game.

But yes, politics is a game. And I am on Team Obama, which includes Team Hillary45 in 2016
and whomever else after will continue the 8 year term of President Obama.

Because in our lifetime, there never will be another President as great as Barack Obama.

It has been since Jan. 1969 that we had another President before as great (that being LBJ lest anyone not know). That is 48 years come Jan. 2017.

And we went backward most of the years after while looking for this purity or that absolute.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Forward or nothing. Those are the two choices.
With 10% forward it is forward
With 100% of nothing it is nothing

23. Just leading a discussion. It's like driving I-95 from NY to Miami, but

you don't plan on stopping until about 30 minutes before you do
(no reservations as you may want to continue another hour or two, or stop and hour or two sooner.

So you know where you want to get to, it's the how you get there that is the game.

(and like in driving, going the speed limit plus 5 will allow one to not be stopped

going the 30 miles over the speed limit may put you ahead, however, if a cop pulls you over and delays you even 15 minutes(and its normally a little longer), you end up arriving later than the person going forward at a safer speed pace

but in the end, it's the prize at the end of the game, not the stuff in between that matters.

39. Does having a discussion on a political board bother you?Anyhoo, this thread made a simple statement

Last edited Fri Dec 14, 2012, 10:56 AM - Edit history (1)

as this is a discussion, it is your right to agree or disagree or place on ignore
(like about 40 others from the one little JKerry group section that did so the exact same day)
went from 40 faster than getting on the Long Island Expressway during rush hour that day.

me, I don't believe in censorship, nor doing that to anyone else. I ignore nothing. I learn from it though. Transparency is great. (except in the senate)

42. correction, the thread made a simple title. It doesn't say an opinion in the title, just a title.

there is no statement, just a title

Like on debate teams.

or like on Johnny Carson where Johnny threw a title out to Doc and he played a song.
Johnny didn't provide lyrics, just a title
and Doc provided the lyrics and music to the title

or better yet,
Ed, in their funniest routine, had me rolling on the floor each week, would give an envelope to Johnny and say some word
and johnny would tear open the envelope, blow into it, remove the paper and give a response

but Ed never did more than provide the title

anyone remember Johnny and Ed? Without Ed, it would not have been perfect.
Which is why the johnny comes laters are not half as funny even if you put all of them
(Leno/Letterman/Colbert/Stewart/Conan/Kimmel etc. together)
Because they don't have Ed.
