Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

In the end, it's all about dopamine isn't it?

Seriously - sex, drugs, rock and roll, religion, war, extreme sports, extreme anything, flying, running, killing, maniacal expressions - it is all about dopamine and how we get it

Right?

Seriously, it's sad to find out that the vessel for nature's most intelligent creature's motivations are the same as the crocodile....

3. Well, we are animals after all.

But we can CHOOSE how we get dopamine. Doesn't have to be self-destructive. Sex is great, so are yoga and meditation, and eating black beans.

6. Yes, but I doubt that we are the most intelligent creatures.

Haven't you read Douglas Adams?

We might, and I stress the word might, be the most self aware, but the average dog is quite a bit more intelligent that the average human in my experience.
