On Rice, Kerry, Hagel, and McCain . . . .

I never favored Rice for SoS, but it pisses me right the fuck off that McCain appears to have won some dumbfuck macho-game. I wish McCain an undrainable, painful and chronic boil on his ass.

I am neutral about Kerry, but prefer he stay right where he is. In fact, I think it would be one more smack if Obama *didn't* nominate him.

I am a hard "No" on Hagel. There are plenty of qualified actual Democrats who can do that job. I am not vitriolic about Hagel, but, like McCain, fuck him. We gots lots better.

These same sentiments apply to SecDef, by the way.

People are going to continue to hate on Kerry whatever he does.

That said, this wasn't good for anyone.

A woman was bullied out of a job by GOP thugs. And now people here are not only afraid of Brown and a possible special election, but making the next person in line (Senator Kerry) out to be a enemy because favorites have not yet been promoted or cause of past votes/elections. There has been more praise for Hagel then there has been for Kerry. Obama has a mess on his hands.

Yes, this is a mess. But please don't make it singularly about Kerry. That simply isn't the case. The concern for his senate seat - JUST as an EXAMPLE - is real.

You shall not hear any praise for Hagel from *this* clown. What I was saying in my OP is that if Obama didn't nominate him, *that* would be a slap against the repubicans . . . not against Kerry as you seem to have read it.

And you can look at various threads that mention Kerry or SOS to prove my point.

He's one of the few Republicans that is actually sane. And genuinely likes the President. I give props to him for endorsing Obama the first time. And he's smart enough to know, no to get the US in stupid wars.

I just don't think Kerry wants to be in the Senate anymore. He apparently wanted to be SoS the first term. So let him be happy. He's been a good Democrat.

Who knows what Hagel ultimately pledges allegience to ? That would not set too well with most Dems.
