Norquist: Obama might ‘blow up small countries’ for fun

Anti-tax lobbyist Grover Norquist says that President Barack Obama will have to “blow up small countries” because Republicans will not let him have “any fun at all” spending taxpayers’ money.

“Obama will be on a very short leash, fiscally speaking, over the next four years,” Norquist told C-SPAN on Thursday. “He’s not gonna have any fun at all.”

“He may decide to go blow up small countries he can’t pronounce because it won’t be any fun to be here, because he won’t be able to spend the kind of cash he was hoping to.”

The Americans for Tax Reform founder also said that “we” Republicans in the House and Senate would force the president to make spending cuts before passing any continuing resolutions, suggesting the threat of a government shutdown if conservatives did not get their way.

Although Norquist eventually soured on President George W. Bush’s war of choice in Iraq, he initially supported the effort, which was predicted to cost $3 trillion.

“The Democrats were on the wrong side of the Civil War, the Cold War, and now the Iraq War,” Norquist said in 2003. “Their batting average on these things is right up there with France.”

Seems like he's putting out more agressive soundbites and talking points, more often, while becoming increasingly less comprehensible.

it would be easy to drown them in a bathtub--or nuke the whole country. Think about that when you think about tax shelters.

when he was 12...he admitted...and he has not matured from that trauma...

"have fun" this is a 12 year old mentality that thinks it is 'fun' to blow up small countries...cause daddy won't let you spend money...sick fuck!

Are the press now his submissives as well as Congress?

Has an unelected think tank part-timer EVER had this much power or influence?

Is anyone besides the phenomenally wealthy actually taking his childish, crybaby nonsense of never, EVER raising taxes seriously?

Grover Norquist would be openly laughed at on the nightly news, and not quoted as an actual source of information on anything.

That's funny, considering that the Southern base of the current Republican Party is mostly made up of turncoat Dixiecrats.

Northern and southern Democrats were torn over the expansion of slavery and it was the split in the Democratic Party that allowed the upstart Republican Party to take the election.
