Mark my words, Michigan is going to mark the end of the anti-union movement.

That's right, it's the END for these fucks.

They went a bridge too far. They put the straw on the camel's back that broke it.

This shit WILL NOT STAND.

They over reached on anti-voting laws and it bit them.

They've now over reached on anti-union laws and it will be the DEATH of their fucked up party.

21. What about Gerrymandering?

The districts were redrawn in 2010 by Republicans. How does that affect 2014?

7. I agree (and 2014 just got interresting because of it).

In fact those who voted for this bill to keep from getting primaried from the right are now gonna get primaried from the left (and everyone else). It's also going to sour political relations in MI for years to come.

10. As long as there is greed

The war on workers will never be over. I expect the right for employers to screw over employees to be reversed at some point, but after that we must not be contempt, because the forces that brought this awful legislation will always be laying in wait. So we must always be ready for the fight.

marks the END of unions in the United States. this has been the wet dream of the wealthy class for decades. , Unfortunately some union people-- not sure about Michigan, but am sure union members helped elect scott wanker governor of Wisconsin.

Across the big pond, over in Wisconsin, you may recall a recall vote of governor walker resulted in walker remaining in office. his anti worker, anti collective bargaining legislation is firmly in place.

19. This article is about the move to attack the teacher's union from a few days ago.

Basically the privateers are behind re-engineering of the system so that the ‘education market’ can be opened up to private capital.

On the 9th December, a few days after the STRB report had followed Michael Gove’s exhortation and swept away national pay scales for teachers, the Sunday Times newspaper (no doubt briefed by an informed source) announced that the DfE was on a ‘war-footing’. The government is, apparently, in preparation for a conflict with teacher unions. There can be little doubt that as this issue escalates (as it is meant to) it will be teacher unions cast as villains. However, it is important to remember, and in due course remind others, that it is the government that is picking this fight.

It is necessary therefore to pose the question – why? Why court confrontation (Ministers know this is a ‘line in the sand’ issue for teacher unions) when there is no compelling reason to introduce the changes? Before seeking to answer this question it is worth rehearsing some of the arguments relating to teachers and performance-related pay...

• There is no clear evidence that performance-related pay for teachers improves the quality of teaching and learning.
• The scheme presented by the STRB will be very complex and must surely be a distraction from what headteachers’ should be focusing on – teaching and learning (in a different context, this argument brilliantly put by headteacher John Tomsett, in his blog here).
• There are already considerable pay flexibilities in the current pay structures (many not used by headteachers, see next point).
• There is no evidence that anything more than a small minority of headteachers want the type of system proposed in the STRB report. In all the research I have done over 20 years, including recent research relating to Academy Schools (forthcoming) headteachers generally value national pay and conditions and show no appetite to depart from this approach. They appreciate the equity within it, the endorsement of unions and they do not see further performance-related pay as a priority.

I mean this really was the last straw. The union busting corporate blood suckers have used the nuclear option.

WE DO REALIZE THAT RIGHT? IT IS NOW OR NEVER

I think until Republican blue collar types wake up and realize they have been getting shit on, nothing will happen. Fox and Limbaugh keep that awakening from happening.

Anyone with eyes can see the tent was brought down from within...

Just like the aforementioned groups are trying to do to America.

31. People said the same about Wisconsin. The fact is that most just people don't care.

Unions don't exactly have a stellar favorability rating anymore. It's been been declining as well as union membership.

Most people don't care.
