9. I've felt that way for some time

Simple remedy: dock their pay for any time they spend on party activities (instead of working for us).

3. Yes and no.

Checks and balances, remember?

One recent Congress couldn't muster a supermajority to override a theatened presidential veto to increases to his proposed budget.

In most of the '00s what happened was that the president proposed something and Congress appended more stuff to it. Pretty much everybody got their way. Spendy, that.

4. No, it takes two to tango.

Congress passes bills and the President signs them. Both are responsible for the debt.

5. Listening to Congress, though

...you'd think they had nothing to do with it. And a veto is a tool that Prexies must use with caution.

6. There should be more vetoes.

FDR had the most (635) and he didn't do too bad. Obama has only had 2 in four years.
