A Preview of the ’12-12-12′ Concert and Where to Watch
By Joshua Dawsey

AP

Bruce Springsteen.

An all-star musical lineup that crosses genres and generations will band together at Madison Square Garden this evening for the “12-12-12″ Sandy relief concert.

Helping to kick off the concert will be Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at 7:30 p.m. Other featured acts include Alicia Keys, Billy Joel, Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and The Who. Specific set-lists haven’t been announced, a spokeswoman for Madison Square Garden said.

The concert is sold out, but organizers say the concert will be available to “nearly two billion” people across the globe on TV and on the Web.

If you want to watch, there are several options.Thirty-four television stations will broadcast the concert, including AMC, the Smithsonian Channel and HBO. Additionally, another 30 websites — including Hulu, AOL and Yahoo YHOO -0.38% — will stream the show live. Two Sirius XM stations, Channel 20 and Channel 22, will play the show.

Money from the benefit concert will go to the Robin Hood Foundation, a New York City group. More details are available on the concert’s website. Speakeasy will cover the concert from inside Madison Square Garden, so check in later for more.

Lots more musicians: just read Eddie Vetter will be performing with Roger Waters. Sounds good to me! Give generously if you can; the east coast is still a nightmare.

And some really important people who care. You're not alone; there are about 300 thousand families who were effected by this storm, last I heard. This is a step in the right direction; I bet they raise a lot of $$, and it's entertaining. And for you,

I am a surviver of the May 22, 2011 EF-5 Tornado that hit Joplin, MO. My problm is a type of PTSD.
The pictures they show brings back memories for me. I m still trying to rebuild my life. I know what many are and will be suffering. Something like this does something to a person. I know what they will be facing inside. That is why it is important for those that can give to do so. To have a physical rock to hold on to is the first step. Then, the other part will hit, and many will need help to deal with that too.

Added:So ANY DUer that can spare any little change, get to your phones and help them out! PLEASE!

they are singing. It's just thea new style of singing, I would say, and I think you don't really need that many stops along the way to get to the high note. Just my preference. Don't care for her music.

62. I feel old. I saw the Who about '74, and the Stones in '78.

however, they are way older than me and rocking hard NOW.

fun music! And they are rocking!

Saw the Stones once back in the 80's before they were on the retirement dole...

They made him an offer to reunite with The Who for the opening ceremony.

80. Who was great. Waters was great. Keys was great. Bruce & Bon Jovi were great. Fuck the Stones.

2 songs and "If it rains in London, come help US."

I'm sure the compilation AMC ends up airing will make it look like EVERYONE played 2 songs. Whatever.

What a joke of a gasbag West is. I hope people are still donating by the end of his set sometime tomorrow. Yawn.

I don't give a flying fig about anyone's history as long as they do what they said they would do.

Ugh. You wasted my time. Go away.

89. That was the best "look at how great I am" lip-sync crap performance at a benefit OF ALL TIME.

If that guy's your hero or something, whatever. He did a great job of making The Stones set look charitable.

Curtis Mayfield was looking down on NYC and saying "WTF."

I've read your stuff. Being called an asshat by you is an honor.

111. That wasn't a Nirvana song they did

I have all Nirvana's CD's and I don't think that was a Cobain song. I think that was a new one they wrote for the concert.

I think Paul did a nice job.

And I never would have recognized Krist Novoselic. (I've seen Dave Grohl; he's still prominent, being in the Foo Fighters. Grohl has also performed with the Stones and the Who.)
