Race for White House Wide Open After Hillary Leaves Office in 2024 - prediction by Andy Borowitz

Race for White House Wide Open After Hillary Leaves Office in 2024
Posted by Andy Borowitz

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—The race for the White House will most likely be “wide open” after Hillary Clinton serves her two terms as President, experts agree.
“What happens in 2024 is anyone’s guess—and if anyone tells you differently, they’re lying,” says political science professor Davis Logsdon of the University of Minnesota. “The only thing we can say with any certainty is that Hillary Clinton will be elected President by a landslide in 2016 and reëlected by an even bigger margin in 2020.”
Mr. Logsdon says that possible Republican Presidential candidates in 2024 could include Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, with this caveat: “If any of those men have the misfortune of running against Hillary in 2016 or 2020, she will defeat them so soundly that their political careers will be finished and they will vanish from public life forever.”
As for the future of the Democratic Party after Hillary’s two terms are over, Mr. Logsdon offers this prediction: “I can tell you right now that Hillary’s Presidency will be so successful that she will usher in a Democratic dynasty of sorts. I’m not a betting man, but if I had to guess, I’d say that after eight years of Hillary there will be eight years of Michelle, then eight years each for Chelsea, Sasha, and Malia.”
But “not so fast,” says Democratic strategist Tracy Klugian, who believes such predictions sell Hillary short: “Assuming her current poll numbers hold up in 2024, I think it’s safe to say that Hillary Clinton will be the most popular President in U.S. history. In that event, the Twenty-second Amendment, which limits the President to two terms, will be repealed and Hillary will run again.”
Mr. Logsdon, however, scoffs at that scenario: “If the Twenty-second Amendment is repealed, Bill will run again.”

8. He tweeted one the other day that said:

I'm looking forward to 8 years of Hillary, followed by 8 years of Michelle, followed by 8 years each for Chelsea, Malia, & Sasha.

2. filed under stupid premature predictions..

Don't mistake me now.....no one would be happier if the article came to pass....but its a bit early given that Obama hasn't been inaugurated yet and Hillary hasn't made up her mind yet..

and four years is a long tome in politics

5. Borowitz is a satirist

he's obviously satirizing people talking about Hillary in 2016 when it's only 2012.

6. Umm.......this isn't "real" real.

Andy Borowitz is a liberal satirist who writes political parody for HuffPost and other sites, usually pretty good and cutting parody. I think his point with this piece is to satirize all of the current speculation regarding Hilary and the idiots in the media who are pushing the possibility of her presidential candidacy right now just for ratings and attention.

9. Did you feel the same way about FDR and about Gore, about JFK RFK Teddy?

It's funny that most people forget that JFK was the son of a politician who ran
Gore was the son of a senator
FDR ahem relative of Teddy Roosevelt

by your standard, none of the above would have been President

oops, of course you only mean a Clinton and Bush I bet, right? I can't figure out any other
meaning unless you didn't like FDR and all the Kennedy's and Al Gore, etc.

And is a woman penalized for being married to a male? That reeks to me IMHO

BTW-what actually has Warren accomplished? NOTHING just articles or teaching

She hasn't even been sworn in.

and I am sure you know she said that the #1 concern in America is to stop terrorism and the threat of terror, and everyting is on the table in Iran, didn't you?(in a speech running for senator).

If she runs, Jeb (or Rubio) will Dukakis her quicker than they Dukakissed Dukakis
And if she ran, and Jeb or Rubio had Christie, I would not be surprised if NJ and other blue states turned. Makes no sense. I think candidates from Mass. are something that should not be tried again too soon.

But if one wants a candidate from Mass, Deval Patrick at least has a long and great record.

12. 90% of Democrats want to see HIllary as President.

and actually Michelle will win after Hillary's 8 years

most people want a CONTINUATION of President Obama, being that I can't think of anyone save a few here that want to go backwards or away from him.

makes no sense.

as for anyone else in the democratic party, none of them are qualified compared to her,
and none will be able to beat Bush.

It takes a Clinton to defeat a Bush.

none of the others are vetted
a big no no these days

14. Didn't care for Gore, didn't care for Bill Clinton and NAFTA, for that matter. Too young for RFK.

And voted for Jerry Brown during the 1976 primaries.

And I just don't like Hillary, I don't think she's in touch with the peoples' deepest needs and is too cozy with corporations and especially multinationals.

New blood.

Has nothing to do with Massachusetts.

15. Jerry Brown (whom I voted for) was the son of a Governor too you know

Sometimes the 2nd or 3rd or whatever ends up being better than the 1st

But I would gladly vote for Jerry Brown & Jesse Jackson in 2016 if they were the nominees like they should have been a few years back.
