Teabagger-only walled city proposed for rural Idaho county

This will be front-page news in tomorrow's St. Maries Gazette-Record: the III Arms Company, a custom gun shop based in West Virginia, is planning to buy three thousand acres of Benewah County, Idaho, to build what they refer to as a "citadel" - a place where they can practice Jefferson's Rightful Liberty and walk around armed to the teeth at all times.

Oh...read this...http://iiicitadel.blogspot.com/

I went through the guy's blog and apparently he's never actually BEEN to Benewah County. Among other things, they plan to have their own private airstrip in Teabag City. There is exactly one place in Benewah County that's flat and long enough to put an airstrip, and it's where the county airport is. ('Course, the teabaggers COULD put their compound out there, but they'd have to contend with a few obstacles like the sewage lagoon, the huge swamp next to the airport, the evil government school on the hillside, and the river.)

They've got a "Patriot Agreement" you have to sign before you move to Teabag City. Among its requirements are that you obtain an AR-15 rifle and a thousand rounds of ammo. Now, it just so happens that one of the guns this asshole makes is an AR-15 rifle, but we won't talk about that. You also have to qualify on the range with rifle and pistol every year, and they're going to raise a militia.

I guess there is one advantage to having a walled community: when the state finally gets tired of their shit, the National Guard can block all the roads leading into town and lob mortars in there until the problem corrects itself.

Benewah County is so teabaggy I don't think they know you can use teabags for anything but hat decorations anymore, and even the St. Maries residents think this guy is full of shit.

No new roads.

No new electricity from the state.

Which should make the Benewah County Sheriff REAL fucking happy...he's already got "People's Republic of Emida" license plates to worry about.

Check this shit out: a sovereign citizen who lives in Emida (population under 700, one street) decided the state's license plates didn't apply to him or his friends. So he went out, bought a sheet of plywood, cut it into license-plate-size pieces, and made People's Republic of Emida license plates...which the sheriff promptly told him were only valid within the People's Republic of Emida. Naturlich, this moran drives to St. Maries, the county seat, with his homemade license plates and also naturlich, the sheriff cites him for invalid license plates every time he does. If the bastard would pay his fines they could fix the county jail so people can't escape anymore, but that's not likely to happen.

If the inhabitants would stay inside the walls, I'd be overjoyed. Instead, it'll likely turn into another of the white supremacist militia compounds that already dot the landscape of rural Idaho, and the filth that spawns there will gradually leak out all over the PNW.

is the fact that this moran wants to put three thousand families of hotheaded "preppers" in a cage and demand they walk around armed all the time. Eventually one of them is going to snap, and the National Guard will have to come in to solve the problem. Which they will do with aerial bombardment.

pissed at each other because someone has their grass taller than 6 inches. There are also two very different groups this will appeal to. it's just a matter of time before some over testoteroned clown thinks someone else is lookin' at his woman and if he thinks she looks back... the shootin' 'll start sure as there's water in the St. Joe.

And of course they'll also be right near an Indian reservation so there'll be lots of aggirvatin' whenever they head over to Plummer where the highway is.

By the way, Plummer is where the big wobbly wars were about a hundred years ago... not a whole lot has changed over there except the Couer d'Alene tribe got to take over some of the towns on their reservation.

And there's a lot of forest over there too so they'll have a lot of work to do making room for three thousand homes on steep forested slopes.

Wonder if this guy will change his mind once he gets a look at what he thinks he's buying. Unless he's figuring to take lots of peoples' money and disappearing.

They will have free reign to recruit additional converts and, when they tire of life inside the compound, freedom to trickle back into "normal" society. They will come out both more dangerous and more stupid (if possible) than when they entered. And we, as a society, will pick up the pieces of ruin they leave behind.

We are getting letters about Otter's decision to set up a state-run healthcare exchange. They are not positive. One guy asked all of us to write, call and e-mail the governor and inform him that since the Supreme Court ruled exchanges unconstitutional, he should not only refuse to set one up he should bar Idahoans from using the federal one.

How much ignorance is in this letter? He doesn't understand the General Welfare and Supremacy clauses of the Constitution. He doesn't understand how the Internet works. As for rejecting the exchange...it's not that the horse has left the barn. It's that the horse has been taken to Canada, slaughtered, shipped to France and sold for 10 euro per kilo, the barn has been torn down and made into flooring, and a Walmart has been built on the land. Because Obama will be president throughout the phase-in period, once it's established it will be nearly impossible for a GOP president to undo it.

That huge body of water is actually five lakes. The two closest to St. Maries are Benewah and Chatcolet.

The required wall around Liptonville is going to screw their plans. There isn't 3000 contiguous acres up there. They could build it in chunks by soaking up farms and hillside, but I doubt they want to be separated.

I can think of a couple places that would technically work, but in reality they won't because they're tribal wheat fields and wheat farming has long supported the tribe. They aren't likely to sell it to gun nuts.

If they build this at all it'll have to be on the Rathdrum Prairie. That's in Kootenai County.

Once again, this asshole seems to have never been there.
