Have AIPAC and other Jewish Organizations condemned the Atlanta

Jewish Times Andrew Adler's suggestion that assassinating the President of the United States is an option? Has Netanyahu condemned this?

His apology is not good enough.

1. The ADL condemned it in extremely strong terms:

"There is absolutely no excuse, no justification, no rationalization for this kind of rhetoric. It doesn't even belong in fiction. These are irresponsible and extremist words. It is outrageous and beyond the pale. An apology cannot possibly repair the damage.

Irresponsible rhetoric metastasizes into more dangerous rhetoric. The ideas expressed in Mr. Adler's column reflect some of the extremist rhetoric that unfortunately exists -- even in some segments of our community -- that maliciously labels President Obama as an 'enemy of the Jewish people.'

Mr. Adler's lack of judgment as a publisher, editor and columnist raises serious questions as to whether he's fit to run a newspaper."

The Israeli-Consul General in Atlanta also condemned the statement "in the strongest possible terms" stating that he was ""appalled at this deranged and morally repugnant assertion."

7. It looks to me like folks are talking past each other here

The question raised by the OP was whether Jewish organizations had condemned Adler's column. The answer is that they have, in very unambiguous terms. A poster weighed in that "it didn't look like an apology". I think, and I could be wrong, that post was in reference to Adler's apology, not the statements by the ADL or the Israeli official. But it seems to have led to a confusing bit of give and take even though I think everyone agrees that it was appropriate for the ADL to condemn Adler's column and that the ADL did indeed condemn it.

But its just not accurate to say that Mr. Adler threatened the President.

11. True, but the OP wasn't asking for an apology from them.

The ADL is an organisation whose remit is to comment on this area of public policy; it's reasonable to ask whether they're going to condemn this. As one of the posts above shows, the answer was "yes, strongly".

But they described a death threat as rhetoric and now need to apologize for that.

I'm not sure that an apology from Mr. Adler or anyone else would lessen the outrage I've felt since reading it.
