Fox has produced mean and hateful people

Their viewers no longer care about their fellow Americans. It is a curse upon our nation. Like rfk jr said it's leading us to a civil war. Like the snake in the garden of Eden it.'s evil. There is no love at fox news nor is love coming out of the mouth of rump. It's negative, mean and hateful. And they say they are Christian. Jesus is love and I hear no love nor see it in their actions. I just hope people wake up.

My 90 year old father finds it "entertaining" to listen to rants and raves.

7. Faux News is destroying America.

The good news is that most of Fox's viewers are older people; the younger generations tend to be more liberal and are rejecting Faux's obvious conservative bias.

for acting on their mean and hateful impulses. They've normalized nastiness and incivility.

26. Fox reinforces and further radicalizes them.

Before Fox the bigotry and hate were more moderate and largely kept behind closed doors. Fox very publicly encourages them, tells them they're right, emboldens them, keeps their hatred organized and focused. It's a disaster for civil society.

12. Ossified brains cant handle new things

Gay marriage, black president, legalized marijuana and abortion. Its just too much for them and then Fox gins it up even more.
I heard somewhere once that the less intelligent you are the less you can tolerate new things and change. Take it from me-I dont even have a smart phone or tablet yet. haha

13. Especially for those prone to alzheimer's dementia..

Like my 93 year old dad... who hates all his children for voting that Obama into office, will throw things at anyone he thinks is one of those "damn liberals" till they leave his home. He has become someone no one recognizes or wants anything to do with. He talks crazy crap about joining some crazy gun-toters group to defend the southern border. Mom, who is still alive, can calm him down sometimes, sometimes not.
I hate fox news more than anyone can know.

and I intend on pointing that out where appropriate.
They are angry all the time and are constantly looking for people who they can dump their garbage on.

15. How sad....

Recently spent ten days with my elderly (89 & 91) "Fox News" watching parents. My father talked constantly about the upcoming election and how they were going to kick his "blXXK" ass out of the White House. How Obama was a freakin' Muslim who was going to destroy this country. His level of anger and misinformation was astounding. We got into it.... yelled....cursed....and then I said, "I love you dad" and he said....."I don't want your I love you crap." It is such a shame that families all across America are divided.....sad.

23. Wow. That is heartbreaking.

Geez, you'd think folks so close to meeting their maker would be a touch more circumspect, let alone show some compassion for their own child. To brush off an "I love you" like that is just cruel and shows how far they've gone.

Sigh. My in-laws are the same way.

16. Murdoch has no feeling for America at all.

Nothing against foreigners in general, but this one time, it really matters that the two top FOX news owners have no real tie to the American people.

Murdoch and an Arabian Prince have no interest in any part of our nation's welfare.

In fact, they both seem hostile to us and to want to bring us down to rubble.

Christians are a majority because they spent the last few thousand years terrorizing and slaughtering millions of non-christians, their religious beliefs don't make them any better than anyone else.

22. The product of polarizing peoples' opinions

to work an agenda. In this case, furthering Plutocratic goals. Perhaps the saddest, or most harmful aspect is the manner with which it seems to close peoples' minds.

Our leaders seem to be doing little to form consensus. Or at least bring honest debate to Congressional chambers.

25. I will continue to say this

and I absolutely believe it to be true.

Fox News is the single greatest threat to our nation.

This is information terrorism. We will collectively destroy ourselves because Fox influences just enough people to put a pollitical stranglejold on correcting our ills.

It is the cumulative damage of Fox influence being on the wrong side of so many issues that makes them the single greatest threat.

28. Media Matters is David against Murdoch's Goliat

I tip my hat to the watchdog site "Media Matters" for trying to counter the toxic misinformation from Fox News. And with facts, not rant. Here are a few examples of its Nov. 10 scans - yes, just ONE day, of GOP-slanted news and comments:

"Fox News Falsely Accuses Obama Of Trying To Change The Constitution"
"Fox Garbles Economics To Claim European Austerity Proves Need For GOP Policies"

There's more, and a huge archive. But M.M. goes after all the liars, as these other samples from today's M.M. show:

"MSNBC's Scarborough Reprises Disputed Claim That Waterboarding Contributed To The Success Of Bin Laden Raid."
"CNN's Candy Crowley Hides American Support For Raising Taxes."
"The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg Calls For Loosened Gun Laws On The Basis Of Discredited Research."

Trouble is, the lies are more popular than the truth. Media Matters struggles to survive while Fox remains the dominant force in cable news; and, as the original poster noted, a danger to our democracy.

30. I have trouble blaming Fox for it

People make decisions.

Does alcohol force an alcoholic to drink? Did it force the person to try alcohol in the first place.

Do phones force people to text? Texting is another thing in our society that is making it more difficult for people to interact civilly.

My point is that Fox doesn't force people to watch it. Those who watch it choose to do so for some reason, just as those who choose not to do.

What a person engages in reflects more on the basic nature of the person than the activity they engage in.
