Just how big a deal *is* that mandate?

I believe there was a mandate for Obama and, in a larger sense, for the Democratic agenda.

We won strongly in many measures. We won the electoral college pretty soundly. We won the presidential popular vote with a serious final margin - about 3 million votes.

We won the Senate outright, and far for strongly than it was predicted we would. While we did not win the House outright, we did win the plurality of House votes nationally, to the tune of 1.1 million votes.

So, we won, but some repubicans are acting as if they did. Like the crap in Michigan, essentially killing dead the unions. In fucking MICHIGAN fer krissakes.

What happened in Michigan was really quite amazing. They ramrodded it through. In less than a day they did what other repubicans have wanted to do.

They killed unions. Dead. A knife in the heart.

I can not imagine they did it legally. Not that fast and that decisively.

Wow.

Has been talking about the fact that the new Republican strategy they have been developing and feeding like a newborn llama over the past few years is conquer the electorate by hook or by crook on a local level - state and county, etc. Then move up.
