How long was it in print?

Is there a new edition?
If so, what (supposedly) replaces that stupid paragraph about "atheists and homosexuals" wanting to scare kids?

131. To be clear

...the text in this image is not the original, yes. It's mocking Ham.

But Ham DID publish a book called "Dinosaurs in Eden". And it DID make the argument that things like carnivorous dinosaurs spent their days side by side with Adam and Eve doing things like eating bananas. And then later on people riding them around with the freaking Pyramids in the background.

THIS

...is an *actual* page from the book. Right from Amazon. as is this:

He absolutely is a nutcase.

34. My favorite

"When my 3 year old son told me dinosaurs weren't around at the same time as people, I explained to him (again) that God created the dinosaurs the same time as all the other animals. Many died during the flood. There were dinosaurs on the ark. Probably many dinosaurs that came off the ark were killed off by knights."

And to think, those people walk the same sidewalks as do the rest of us.

Here's a link to the Daily Bleach parody article. Not that it's easy to distinguish the parody from the reality. There just isn't that much space between them.

Misrepresentation, usually through delusion but very often deliberate, is their stock in trade.

2. You'd think that the bible might include a chapter on Dinosaurs.

I mean the Apatosaurus left HUGE dung piles.

You'd think the bible would mention those dung piles and how bad they smelled.

The Camel has MANY references in the bible. T-Rex, not one mention. Apatosaurus, not one mention.

"terrible lizards" so that MUST mean they saw dinosaurs. Geeze, JoePhilly, get with the program.

11. Haha ... I have heard that ... my response to it has basically been ...

Wait ... so the bible talks about Camels, multiple times ... but then its only mention of Dinosaurs is to refer to them as "Great Lizards"??

This makes no sense ... The diversity of Dinosaurs should have led to more mentions of these creatures. The bible makes direct references to many specific animals. You'd think that the Stegosaurus would get mentioned. T-Rez had huge teeth, walked on 2 legs, and had two apparently useless, chicken arms.

At some point, some biblical tribe should have used Aptosaurous dung to make a house, or a defensive wall.

But no ... the bible is fixated on camels. Long neck, a couple humps ... NOTHING compared to some of the dinosaurs that humans, according to the crazies, domesticated.

75. Read your Bible again

there are 2 mentions of dinosuars in the Bible...but they are not called Dinosaurs because that is a "new" word. Both Bohemoth and Leviathan are mentioned in the book of Job! read their descriptions! One resembles a swimming creature and other resembles an Apatasaurus.

Wed Dec 12, 2012, 02:54 PM

133. Oh, I've read JOB ... not buying it.

The Behemoth sounds much more like an elephant or Hippo than anything else.

Now, some might try to argue that the description of the tail doesn't fit. They argue that the he tail should be larger and stiffer. Except that the reference to a "cedar" could refer not only to the cedar tree, but to the cedar bush as well.

The main problems are ...

(1) This creature is compared to an OX initially. Which means the first image placed into the bible reader's mind is that of an animal around the size of an OK. If the animal is much larger, the passage should say that somewhere. After all, you want the reader to get a size perspective of some animal much much larger than an ok, at least according to you. That does not happen.

(2) Later in the passage, the creature spends its time in the water. Scientists don't think that's where the Aptosauras spent its time.

(3) The passages in JOB describe this animal taking shade under trees. An elephant could do so, an Aptosauraus would have been too tall.

(4) Part of the story is that only God could kill it. By that same point in history, people had stopped trying to kill elephants and hippos. They were so strong, the risk did not outweigh the reward. Much of the Old Testament points attempts to help the reader avoid dangerous situations. That is probably why eating Shrimp and other shell fish (no scales) was seen as an abomination ... the people at that time did not realize that "shell fish" and "scaled-fish" could not be preserved in the same fashion.

Now ... as for Leviathan ... let's see ... can you tell me which dinosaur was able to do these things ... ??

18 His snorting throws out flashes of light; his eyes are like the rays of dawn.
19 Firebrands stream from his mouth; sparks of fire shoot out.
20 Smoke pours from his nostrils as from a boiling pot over a fire of reeds.

Its not surprising you went to the Old Testament again, that book of the bible does seem to have the most superstitious content, at least compared to the New Testament.

So given that ... let's do this ... let's imagine that I agree with you that the Behomoth and the Leviathan might be references to dinosaurs in the OT ... clearly the Dinosaurs should also appear in the NT, right? I mean they should get some mention there, right?

Now, you could argue that they died prior ... maybe during the time of Noah I guess. But Noah needed to take 2 of every animal, including the Dinos, on the Ark. Did they die prior? Or did he take them? If he took them, how did they fit? Who feed them? Who cleaned up their dung?

And then, what are they doing during the NT times?

18. Ken Ham is a con artist.

He's been brainwashing kids with "Jesus was with the dinosaurs" for years.

This particular paragraph shows just how terrified Ken Ham is, of REAL science and not his fundy fairy stories.

"For centuries, 'scientists' have tried to present the dinosaurs as violent monsters because they wanted to scare children. It's no coincidence that most of these men have been atheists or even homosexuals who are possessed by an intense hatred of young boys and girls."

Ken Ham believes in a literal interpretation of the bible and nowhere in it does it say Jesus walked with dinosaurs. It does imply that Adam and Eve did as well as some of there ancestors.

look at this link. please do some fact checking before you just believe that something is true.

There was no "Garden Of Eden," where dinosaurs ate plants.

Those were PREDATORS. They ate meat they caught by slashing other dinosaurs with those claws and the big teeth.
Your creationist fairy tale has nothing to back it up, except the writings of people who didn't even know what lightning was.

...Tsintaosauri, Gallimimuses, and Stegocerases, as he portrays here?

Plenty of archeological tack & harnesses for horses, camels, and other beasts of burden, but none for dinosaurs. No dinosaur bones in ancient campsites and settlements. No cave drawings (as we have for Eurasian rhinos and mastodons).

Really, isn't Ken pulling these out of places where Good Christians simply don't pull things from?

to recognize it as 'satire' in the OP. And in fact a number of posters here have mocked the photoshopped text as if ham wrote it -- which he didn't.

Poe's law has nothing to do with it. The OP represents the page he posted as a page from Ham's book. It's not. The page is altered; it's irrelevant that the illustration isn't altered, because the text is.

101. Why did God decide to destroy such beautiful creatures?

Why was there no room for these gentle giants in Noah's arch?

Why did God give these fruit eating dinosaurs twelve inch long, razor sharp, flesh cutting teeth?

123. Then the big cats came after the friendly dinosaurs?

I mean, since lions and tigers are meat-eaters, they could not have been in existence in Eden. Have they explained where they came from?

138. KEN HAM IMPLEMENTS TAKE DOWN NOTICE

If you think this whole thing isn't strange enough, Ken Ham's Answers In Genesis has instituted a take down notice for the picture that started this entire thread. So how long before the image is taken down? Hopefully Democratic Underground will not back down and fight this.

139. I understand that is a parody...

but is it a parody of a parody?
In other words, this Ken Ham person seems like a satirist.
Or is Ken Ham truly being sincere?

141. I know, I just checked out his facebook page.

People like him are dangerous to society, and I mean that without any exaggeration.
Those poor children, being brainwashed like that. It's borderline child abuse. If there was any such thing as "intellectual child abuse", this would be it.

And the guy and his cronies have published an entire series of books, suggested for use in homeschooling across the country.

147. Wondering where the picture went?

If you're wondering where the picture went that started this whole thread, the admins at the Democratic Underground took it down because of legal threats from Ken Ham.
