2. I'm sensing a growing movement on DU

To CUT defense spending - once and for all. 70% cut.

3. We'd be lucky to get a 7% cut.

The military industrial complex has us by the short hairs.

5. We may have won World War 2

...but we've done nothing but lose ever since.

We rob our treasury to build useless things that can only be shot off into the air, or blown up.

We kill off many of our young people, and do incredible psychic damage to many others.

We have to let our infrastructure crumble to feed this mindless creator of bloody carnage and destruction.

For many of our young people we have so impoverished our nation's possibilities for their future that the only way they can get ahead is to become part of the military/industrial complex hex.

And yet, I keep on hoping that one day soon, we will learn to do better, before it is really too late.

13. I'm pretty sure it's psychological damage...

that we are doing to people (instead of psychic) but I haven't been in the military for a few years so they may have come up with new ways to damage others.

I'm like you though; I keep hoping that we can do better.

8. K&R

''Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.''

Dwight D. Eisenhower,
April 16, 1953
34th president of US 1953-1961

10. Will Pitt shared this vid about 6 weeks ago.

I'd like to see it go viral. The graphics are fab, the message is tragic, but needs to be heard.

11. What a commie!

Besides what did he know about war anyway? He was only the supreme allied commander of the European theatre during WW II, as well as a WWI veteran. It's not like he had a show on FOX or something, then he'd be a real "authority" on the matter.

14. It sounds like Ike knew what few people know these days.

He knew that nobody and that means NOBODY wins a war. Not in the past, not now, and never in the future.

17. K&R for Ike!

If he were around today, he would be out on the Fringe Left Wing
of the New Democrat Centrist Party (with me).

You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their rhetoric, promises, or excuses.

18. I more than liked Ike. I loved him. He would not have have been a Repub if..

he were in politics now though. Far from it. Eisenhower be so far to the left he'd make Dennis Kuchinich look like a Republican.
