9. Bernie for president
|
What a dream, finally having a president who is not in thrall to big business and who make "bipartisanship" his main goal, but who cares about the effect of the act on the working class people.

my commie buddy. He definitely stands between me and piss poor political decisions. Whatever the pukes want to call him, I say that whatever that is, has to be great. Imagine if Bernie and Alan Grayson were leading this country.............Oh, sweet dreams.

22. The thing that totally pisses me off
|
is that if they completely eliminated Social Security today and said, sorry seniors, we can't afford to pay you any more, it wouldn't reduce the deficit one bloody red cent!!! Social Security is NOT part of the Federal budget, and does NOT count in the deficit!
But, to listen to the blood-sucking, evil bastards, that don't even pretend to be our Representatives, we 'have to share the pain'. If I had paid into an annuity for 50 years, and when I got to the point I could collect and they told me, 'sorry, we owe too much money, so we can't pay you what we promised'... Oh, wait, that's what big business does with pensions all the time. Sheesch, what a screwed up country. |

25. From the Defend S.S. Caucus
|
"We must do everything we can to defend Social Security and protect the needs of tens of millions of working families. With this in mind, Sen. Bernie Sanders formed the Defend Social Security Caucus.
Members of the new organization already include Sens. Akaka, Blumenthal, Boxer, Sherrod Brown, Cantwell, Harkin, Lautenberg, Menendez, Merkley, Mikulski, Reed, Sanders, Schumer, Stabenow, and Whitehouse." Only 15 Democratic senators have joined this caucus. What are they waiting for??? Is there a restriction to how many members a caucus may have? |

26. An example: The Congressional Progressive Caucus has 76, and Bernie is the only listed Senator.
|
I can't find a rule that specifies a limit. Joining is based on their interest, so maybe nothing has interested them enough about it yet. Or maybe they are busy getting ready for the holidays. |

|
Thank you for this prescient reminder of precisely why this important senior safety net was created! We need to begin referring to it as an "EARNED entitlement" since we pay into the program all of our working life.
Peace & love! |
