'2016' Oscar Snub Has Filmmakers Claiming Political Bias

Gerald Molen, who produced the Academy Award-winning 'Schindler's List,' said the box-office success of the anti-Obama documentary proves the film was a hit: "The action confirms my opinion that the bias against anything from a conservative point of view is dead on arrival in Hollywood."
Gerald Molen, the Oscar-winning producer of Schindler’s List, is claiming political bias because a documentary movie he produced this year isn't up for an Oscar, even though that film, 2016: Obama’s America, made more money at the box office than the combined earning of the 15 films the Academy deemed eligible

not wishful thinking. Because it made money does not merit an Oscar nod. The Saw films suck, and make a lot of money but they are not considered Oscar worthy.

and may well have screwed up again. That said I watched only two of the 16 films mentioned (Bully, How to Survive a Plague) and both were exceptional documentaries. I can't fathom that 2016 is in their league.

....I think that excludes '2016' just after the opening credits, assuming the credits are indeed accurate.

The comments are overrun by right-wimg kooks.

"I'll never watch the Academy Awards again" - like they ever did

"Hollywood is full of elitists" - just because they believe in fairness and equality for all they are elitists??

I'm really sick of these idiots. They believe in whatever Faux News or Drudge or Limpballs tells them. They have no real thought pattern. And they blame the schools on everything . . . Oy Vey!

Total Box Office:

"2016" has earned about $33 million to date. By comparison, "Dude Where's My Car?" earned $73 million ($94 million adjusted for inflation since 2000).

And I never heard Ashton Kutcher bitching about not being nominated.

So shut the fuck up.

I actually watched it (for free, obviously) for laughs. Dinesh D'Stupid made baseless claims and didn't even attempt to provide evidence for them. The only people paying to watch it are conservatives who enjoy being fed crap and conspiracy theorists.

...well for the most part. It's decided by the members of the MPAA...it's their show and if Mr. Molen and his right wing buddies don't like this, they can start their own awards. Why not? The great unhinged have set up their own reality...why not an award show to "reward" those who are the most detached?

Between this whining & Kelsey Grammer's whining, the repigs should just start their own parallel awards shows.

Have music, film, TV, etc awards just for whining 'pigs.
