Decapitated Man Found in Calif. Being Investigated as a Possible Suicide

Man Found Decapitated at Kaiser Parking Facility
By Olsen Ebright and Beverly White

A security guard Monday afternoon discovered the head and body of a decapitated man at a medical center's parking facility in Culver City.

The grisly discovery was made shortly before 3 p.m. at a Kaiser Permanente parking structure located at 12001 Washington Blvd. (map), said Lt. Ron Iizuka of the Culver City Police Department.

The victim did not have any gunshot or knife wounds, Iizuka said.

Detectives say initial evidence suggests the man may have died by suicide, adding that the investigation is still fluid.

Unless the guy has a homemade guillotine, I'd be skeptical here.

Aug. 31, 2011

A father of two set a trailer of his belongings on fire, then decapitated himself just blocks from where his wife and children lived in Yorktown, Va., about 15 miles from Williamsburg.

The 46-year-old man has not been identified by police because his death has been ruled a suicide, but police told ABCNews.com he had recently moved from Chicago to join his wife, teenage daughter and son, who is in middle school. York County Sheriff Danny Diggs said the couple had separated, but he didn't know if they had divorced...

"I was just shocked. Why would people do such stuff," said Merlyn Keefer, another neighbor. "We can't ask him what really went through his head."

I seem to remember a suspicious story back then like that.

Also there was the guy who suicided with a double shot gun blast to the back of the head. (you know, when the first one just isn't enough, get up and do it again.)

The guy who slit his wrist but there was not enough blood to have caused the death.

The last two were political but can't remember the names or circumstances.

who supposedly went out into the woods to hang himself and for some reason scrawled messages on himself. Still ruled a suicide, though.

for sure.

A couple of years ago at around this time, the body of an assistant math professor at our local college, who was rumored to have been gay (he “acted effeminate”) was found in rugged, rocky terrain not far from my house. He’d recently broken an ankle and had been recovering from surgery to repair it. After the cast was off, he walked slowly and carefully, and would even walk all the way around sidewalk cracks so as not to trip. Yet, he was found in his stocking feet in a deep ravine, lashed to a post with barbed wire. It was cold and snowy that winter, but he was wearing no coat or jacket. He had been set on fire and burned alive. Local law enforcement called it a suicide and closed the case.

jumped off a parking structure, and popped his head right off in the process.

I heard that's what happened to Saddam Hussein, too. A proper hangman knows just how far to drop a person to break the neck yet not decapitate. Too many amateurs are doing it these days, so unfortunate things happen.

A professional criminologist (I don't remember his name) teaching criminology at the college that semester offered to help law enforcement with the investigation, because he did not buy the idea that it was a suicide. He insisted that further investigation was necessary, and lost his job over it - the college fired him. He isn't around anymore. He left town when they fired him.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1428408/Suicide-by-DIY-guillotine-and-an-ingenious-timing-device.html

A builder took 12 sleeping pills and lay on his bed under his home-made guillotine. Hours later the blade was released by an "ingenious" timing device and cut off his head.

Boyd Taylor, 36, had spent three months assembling the 8ft-high guillotine.

The blade, set in a 3ft-wide frame, was weighted with a paving slab wired to a piece of plywood which had been wedged into a wooden block at the foot of the bed.

An electric jigsaw was positioned next to the wood and plugged into a timer switch that was set to start the saw, cut the wood and release the wire holding the blade.

A few years ago, the wife of a local prominent attorney was found dead in her bed. Her throat was cut through her carotid artery, and her wrists were slit. The knives she apparently used had been neatly wiped off and placed in orderly fashion on a tray next to her bed. The local coroner ruled it a suicide.

So here's the question: which did she do first? I mean, it takes quite a lot of force to slit another person's throat (so I'm told), let alone trying to slit your own. If she had slit her wrists first, it seems awfully unlikely she could have exerted the kind of force necessary to slit her own throat. If she slit her throat and cut her carotid artery first, she would have bled out very, very fast; it is unlikely she would have remained conscious long enough to also slit her wrists, then carefully wipe the knives and arrange them neatly on a tray, and then lie down to die. Yet it was ruled a suicide.

Meanwhile, when her husband, who was approximately ten miles away at his law office, got the news, his first comment was, "Who's going to clean up the mess?"

But it was a suicide . . .

Sometimes, in Texas, people back into knives repeatedly.

I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.....ruled as suicide.

Then there was the guy who allegedly shot himself five times with a .38 revolver....those make BIG holes.....ruled as suicide..

In Texas, oftentimes judges don't dispense justice.
They dispense with justice.
