Is President Obama finally waking up? Did Michelle sit him down and have a talk and make him understand that these whiny white male Republicans were trying to walk all over him? That he would never be able to have a meaningful collaborative conversation with them as long as he was a Democrat? A Black Democrat?

With a second term secured, President Obama seems to have hi mojo back.

Republicans are shockedat his uncompromising fiscal plan which includes tax hikes on the rich and a new stimulus plan, just when they’re trying their darnedest to pretend the election didn’t happen and that the American people are happy as clams to continue giving enormous tax breaks to the wealthy as American jobs are shipped overseas and the middle class disappears into the abyss. As Fox “news” reports, ” . . . the Obama plan calls for a new wave of stimulus spending on top of $1.6 trillion in tax hikes over the next decade. House Speaker John Boehner told “Fox News Sunday” he was “flabbergasted” when Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner presented the plan in a closed-door meeting last week. The administration doubled down even though Republicans broke with their long-standing no-tax vow and indicated a willingness to close deductions for top earners. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., speaking on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” called the plan a “joke” and predicted it would bode poorly for the future of talks.”

Poor little Neocons, they don’t care – or understand – that the American people are in desperate need of true assistance. And that if the wealthy continue to refuse to pay their fair share there is no hope that this country will co9ntinue as a Republic. An aristocracy, or corporatocracy, sure. But not a democratic republic. Without a return to the Clinton-era tax plan, which realized one of the greatest eras of American prosperity, there is no hope for the future, unless you’re among the 1%.

The good news is that Obama – thus far -is unwavering in his position in this dangerous game of political chicken. According to the AP:

In interviews on five television political talk shows that aired Sunday, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said Republicans have to stop using “political math” and say how much they are willing to raise tax rates on the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans and then specify the spending cuts they want. “The ball really is with them now,” Geithner, one of the White House’s chief negotiators with congressional Republicans, said.

Dam straight. It’s high time we stop bowing to the Sheldon Adelsons and Koch Brothers of this society and return to the economic policies that made this nation strong and prosperous. It’s up to the Neocons now, and we can only hope the voters are watching as they continue to compromise our security in favor the the super-rich that control their every move.
