Roman Catholic Church: gays can be "cured".

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/nov/16/global-campaign-decriminalise-homosexuality-belize-court?INTCMP=SRCH

Belize's evangelical, Anglican and Catholic churches have united to oppose the application. They are expected to set out their objections in a pre-hearing review on Friday and seek to introduce evidence that homosexuality can be "cured".

That's the position that the Roman Catholic Church has taken on legalizing gay sex in Belize; that's the position the church would take elsewhere if given the opportunity. If we don't stand up to religious bigots, they will deny others their rights!

1. homosexuality is not an illness and therefore cannot be "cured".

Bigotry, however, can be.

10. That would be Bishop Dorick Wright, appointed by Rome, but somehow, he does not represent Rome?

His Archbishop recently had quite the anti-gay rally celebrating 500 years of the Catholic Church in Jamaica. (Belize being a diocese under the Province of Kingston.)

I'm guessing that Archbisop Dufour doesn't represent Rome, either?

What about the Papal Nuncio for Belize, Luigi Pezzuto, who had previously worked in el Salvador to ban gay marriage and gay adoption rights?

On Sunday, April 27th, Luigi Pezzuto, who is the Papal Nuncio, or permanent diplomatic representative of Pope Benedict XVI, officially backed Alas, emphasizing the importance of protecting the essence of marriage, and stating that the amendment was not discriminatory.

carried out by their brethren.

7. If they would worry less about homosexuality

and worry more about the pedophilia in their own church, they would accomplish a lot more good in this world.

11. There is no number high enough

for me to put after the plus sign, to recommend your post.

There is a desease running throughout The Church and it is called Pedophillia and destroys the lives of many young people.

'Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.'
1 Corinthians 16:13

Guess that didn't work out so well...

15. It's worked so well for the Church

Rail against homosexuality and sex in general, attract repressed perverts to the clergy, and institutionalize pedophilia. There are the LAST ones to speak with any authority on moral issues.
