It didn't take much of a hit to cause them and when I had one, it REALLY bled. It wouldn't have bled down to the bottom of his lip and stopped as in the picture they created.

56. His shirt would have been bloodied

Bloody noses are piglike when they bleed even if it's just a popped capillary from aggressive mining for gold.

His clothing was spotless in that police video when he was taken into the garage right after the shooting. That told me two things: first of all, he was lying about a broken, bleeding nose and second, that he hadn't been in very close proximity to Martin when he fired his gun.

Getting hit is messy enough but killing anyone at close proximity is even messier. There is a lot of spray.

2. The fact is

Zimmerman followed Travon Martin that night for no other reason than he was black and had a hoodie, and if Travon felt threatened then he would have the right to defend himself under the same law that Zimmerman is trying to use to justify murder. I don't believe that picture for one minute but still.

But by the time the second pic was taken, we should definitely be seeing some of that.

Or the paramedics who saw to Z's wounds that night had the miraculous skill to completely heal a broken nose (and all the swelling and bruising that comes with the injury) in a matter of hours.

Wtf are these jokers trying to pull here?

47. What else could it be?

This "new" photo and the booking photo allegedly claimed to have been taken on the same night is highly questionable. Did zimmerman's "broken" nose swelling suddenly go down in time for the booking photo? Who are they kidding? I'm thinking that the timing of this fake photo release has something to do with the recent killing of unarmed black teen Jordan Davis by another gun-toting white man, Michael Dunn. This new murder has got many more people up in arms about repealing Florida's stand-your-ground law and zimmerman is shaking in his boots because that will have a negative effect on his alleged innocence. Wonder how long it took them to gin up this photo? The noses in the two photos are of different shape and coloring. You can even see a line across the nose in the doctored photo where the redness of the broken nose (obviously photoshopped from another photo) does not match the upper part of his nose between the eyes. We might have been born at night, zimmy ol' boy, but not last night.

But you're right about the width of the bridge of his nose. I don't see how the angle of the photo could account for that, nor for the fact that there is minimal swelling and no bruising in the second pic.

I was not aware that DU attracted so many arm chair criminologists. Why would the prosecutors doctor a photo?

O'Mara told Reuters that prosecutors in May had given him a grainy black-and-white photocopy of the image which was taken in the back seat of a Sanford police cruiser. O'Mara said he received the digital image from prosecutors after repeated demands by his office and he posted it Monday on Zimmerman's defense website.

Why would the Prosecutors photoshop a picture that is more likely to the defenses benefit? This is evidently a picture that was released months ago in B/W and only now in color - released by the Prosecution in digital color after repeated attempts to get it.

Either the photo was altered or it wasn't.

The photo is a red herring. The question as I understand it is who started the fight. Even with the "stand your ground" law a person can't start a fight, proceed to get his ass beat, and then shoot the unarmed guy who is beating his ass.

I don't have high hopes for a fair trial for both the decedent and the defendant given how politicized this case has become.

70. They Didn't Charge Zimmy With Stalking

They didn't charge Zimmy with stalking because that's implied in the capital murder charge. If Zimmy didn't ignore the dispatcher's request, whom one can reasonably believe is trained in such matters and didn't follow the kid, Trayvon would still be alive and Zimmy wouldn't be facing murder charges.

Trayon was minding his own business. occupying a space he had every right to be in, and some clown who is carrying is following him around. Trayvon didn't know if Zimmy wanted to rape him, mug him, or God knows what.

Don't worry... I grew up in the area... Even know some of the actors...Lived a couple of miles from the condominium where Zimmy dusted Trayvon. Zimmy's lawyer will probably hang the jury...An acquittal or guilty verdict, imho, is probably out of the question. But Zimmy's life will forever suck as it should be. At least he still has one.

Can't the "defense team" be dis-bared for intentionally doctoring a photo and releasing it to the public for the purpose of swaying public opinion in a manner that would be beneficial to their client? What happened to the standard of upholding the "truth" that the legal system in our country supposedly cloaks itself in?

45. Doctored or not, the picture changes nothing.

You can't expect to stalk and assault somebody without that person defending himself.

48. Guess in Florida a nosebleed is a capital offense...

Especially if the "bleeder" is packing heat and playing out his Dirty Harry fantasies. Total bullshit.

52. The man in the first picture has the scrape/bloody spot near the bridge of his nose

level with the inside corner of his eye in the second picture, yet clearly below it in the first? If these were two undoctored photos of the same person after a nose injury, wouldn't the scrape look higher when the swelling was noticeable instead of after the swelling had gone?

55. So Zimmerman Suffered a Broken Nose?

is that what the apparently 'shopped photo implies?

if yes, where's the hospital (emergency room) report, signed by the attending doctor?

57. It's pretty easy to get a nosebleed

If that's the most they got - then they don't have much

75. True!

Reminds me of the "actual, unretouched photos" in that rag 'Weekly World News'.

76. He got cleaned up, nose swelling went down. If his nose was broken, would still be swollen.

That is what these tell me. That his nose was impacted by something, caused temporary swelling that went down quickly.

78. Top photo mustache curls over the upper lip

bottom photo shows thick, cleanly shaven line above the lip - the sort that needs to be done with an electric trimmer.

Did Z have access to a trimmer in the jail?

80. For one, anyone with a wad of dried blood on the end of his nose

would have automatically wiped it off with a handkerchief or, in his case, with his jacket sleeve. Leaving it there would have driven him nuts.

All those wads of blood look like they were applied for the photo.

82. Check the date. Story is from December.

This is the same photo that was shown to Ms. Lauer as on a cop took on his phone the night of the killing.

It's not newly released.
