Get ready for the bluedogs!

To show us who they really are. Throughout, the President's first term everytime we were at a critical moment the bluedogs start trickiling out one by one to stop what we the people voted for and the go along with their REAL party the REPUBLICONS.

What is going on now is that the republiCONS are in the background bribing and making deals with the bluedog dems to block what the people voted for. The media is also doing their part by pretending and saying out loud that the President doesn't have a mandate (Bob Schaffer & Candi Crowley) so what in the hell does he think he is doing.

They keep repeating McCOnnell and Boehner's comments as though they have the upper hand and the talking heads are doing a lot of handwringing about how they can help the republiCONS.

President Obama won more than Bush in the electoral college and popular vote but the media said that Bush had a mandate and that it was a landslide Bush got 286 in the electoral vote,so what is the media trying to tell us?

1. The MSM is saying exactly what they're being told to say by their corporate masters....

....as are their puppets in Congress.

What we're seeing is the last-ditch effort by the wealthy and the major corporations to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. They're desperate, and it's coming across that way to anyone paying minimal attention to the process.

3. First sentence is right, but the rest is wrong. They are not only not desperate,

they are in absolute control. If enough millions of us bleat loudly enough we might get them to turn the screws back a bit, but there is no aspect of this or any modern society that they are not in control of.

4. The media is trying to help the CONS...

find a way to explain things to the teabaggers so that they can keep the seats they believe they own for life or until they become lobbyists.

2. "Mandate" Is An Overused Word...

The fact that President Obama is elected...be it by one vote or 10,000,000...fact is he won and controls the political agenda for the next 4 years. While Democrats won seats in both Houses in the past election and President Obama's victory was decisive, that means nothing in the cesspool that is the beltway. There are no "mandates" or "honeymoons" or anything but power and money...and who can throw theirs around bigger and farther than then other guys.

As far as "blue dogs"...they're all but extinct. Most in the House got blown out in '10 and are a non-factor in the House...especially since the rushpublicans are the majority and have no real need for blue dogs to drive wedges. If anything, the shoe is on the other foot. For Boner to accomplish anything, he'll need to cobble coalitions together with "moderate" rushpublicans (if such an animal exists??) and Progressive Democrats. Progressives also gained in the Senate and gone are "blue dogs" like Ben Nelson and Kent Conrad...replaced by folks like Elizabeth Warren and Tammy Baldwin. Hopefully the filibuster rules will be revised and we'll see a whole different tone in what takes place in the Senate.

President Obama has the chance to push through some positive things...raising taxes on the rich and immigration reform in the next two years. The key can and should be the last two years...with the focus of the Democrats retaking the House and holding the status quo in the Senate. Then we may get a brief window where real Progressive legislation will pass...there's your mandate. The goal is to work harder than the rushpublicans in '14 and make it happen...

5. I haven't really looked at ..

who won or lost but there are still bluedogs.

I believe Patrick murphy is going to be a problem. So Bush had a mandate but President Obama doesn't?

In other words when they win they win and when we win they win.

6. They're Down To 25...

http://uspolitics.about.com/b/2012/04/29/2-more-blue-dog-democrats-fall-as-coalition-members-dwindle.htm

Somehow wiki isn't working this morning. 25 isn't much of a caucus...and far smaller than the Progressive and Congressional Black Caucuses. The Blue Dogs were a pain when Democrats were in control and their numbers were 3 times what they are now...enough to join with rushpublicans to try to block legislation from passing. But if you look at Speaker Pelosi's record...she passed a ton of legislation through during those years...unfortunately most of it died due to the silent filibusters in the Senate. The Blue Dogs, including the congresscritter in my district, paid the price for trying to be rushpublican lite...most got beat by "real" rushpublicans. In my district's case we ended up with a teabagger...Joe Walsh...who we just proudly replaced with Tammy Duckworth who is sure to be far more Progressive than any of her predecessors including Melissa Bean.

Point is..."mandate" is based on the big things that are done. I consider the AHCA (Obamacare), Lilly Ledbetter and the withdrawl of troops from Iraq as big things...and in the long eye of history how this President will be remembered. The corporate media can eat shit and die.

Cheers...

7. The Dem leadership in the DNC ...

always seem to choose former republicons or they don't seem to be trying to win hearts and minds in the red states.

The country is changing and they keep repeating that areas are conservative when maybe they aren't and many who claim to be conservative really aren't..
