What date does Congress break for Christmas?

Does that mean a deal has to be reached in less than two weeks?

1. The House and Senate are scheduled to adjourn for Christmas Dec. 14th.

Why does a deal have to be reached at all ?

2. Did you see the calendar Cantor set for the House next session? Something like 126 days of work,

out of 365 days of the year. One of the lightest in history. 2014, please get here quick so that those fuckers can be voted out of control of the House.

3. Its actually 19 more days than was planned for 2013.

Still a very "light" schedule in terms of "legislative" days. Of course, hearings can and are scheduled for days when the House isn't "in session" and as any current or former House staffer will tell you, its not as if everyone is sitting around eating chocolate candies when the House isn't in session.
