2. With this one, it's kind of a mixed blessing . . . .

States get the tax dollars from the Lottery (of course, that assumes it's going to be well spent).

A virulently gay-bashing, fundie-laden organization gets those donations.

6. John Cole's toon should shame us all.

I checked my labels the other day. I don't have any from Bangladesh, but China, Mexico, Philippines, & Honduras were there.

13. I'm wearing a USA made shirt

but it is made from rayon/cotton that was woven offshore.

That scares the hell out of me, this country doesn't make essential things like cloth or shoes, never mind replacement parts for cars and electronics. We no longer have the equipment to make any of this stuff on an industrial scale.

All we need is a disruption in trade routes to bring this country to its knees. We don't even need a war now.

14. It's been 4-5 years, but there was a family that tried to do without anything from China

for an entire year. They wrote a book about the experience. I heard the woman on a talk show - I wish they had extended the segment for a much longer period, because it was fascinating the problems they encountered.

10. Not the Rolling Stones!

How can anyone make fun of the greatest rock & roll band in history? I'm a huge fan and I'm barely 60.

It's not like they're Elvis or something. LOL
