2. One of the worst Democrats in the country.

Rendell is such a shill for the insider, corporatist elites.

Watch the documentary "The Art of the Steal" that is streaming on Netflix and see what a total tool for the super wealthy is this guy Rendell.

(Besides being the first Democratic Party 'leader' to sell out Al Gore in 2000.)

4. The Man Needs a Quick Kick In The Pie-Hole, Sir

We do not need this kind of crap. Never, ever, give something away in negotiations before it is absolutely necessary, and never, ever signal a willingness to give way on anything in advance of being compelled to do so.

"If you only can hold on long enough, the other fellow will give way."

22. Yeah, +2. It's that old "stealing bread and sleeping under bridges" routine...

Original quote: "The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich and the poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread." --Anatole France.

A compromise would not inflict pain on the wealthy.

I wish there was a way to contact Ed. Something tells me he isn't computer savvy.

9. That's sort of hard.

If the middle class feels any more pain, there won't be much left of it to feel anything. The middle class has been squeezed so hard, many of us aren't the middle class any more. Poverty: don't stop until we all get there.

Clearly what I have been feeling all these years is merely the sensation of sparkly butterflies dispensing rainbow fairy dust in my vicinity.

Yep.

15. As if, slick eddie.

As if we haven't already been hurting because of the lack of jobs, the lowering of wages, the offshoring of jobs, the foreclosures, the personal bankruptcies, the people unable to get desperately needed medical care because they cannot afford insurance?

What the f*ck does Rendell know about pain?

21. I don't care for Rendell, but how is this logically different than what Krugman or Dean said.

Both have suggested we let ALL the Bush tax cuts expire, which would mean middle class taxes go up as well. I've seen many DUers also suggest this same thing. Isn't that the same thing as suggesting that middle class people feel pain too?

Again, I think Rendell is kind of an ass at times, but I see a lot of cognitive dissonance here.

35. Krugman and Dean say to let the Bush tax cuts expire to thwart Republican obstructionism

Then next year write a bill cutting taxes for the 98% minuus the top 2 %. This is also what Sen. Murray says she will support if the Rethugs won't pass the Bush tax cuts for the 98% before the end of this year.

In good times, I agree with Krugman and Dean, the tax rates for everyone should go back to the Clinton tax rates, but until the Recession is over, the 98% need the tax cuts for now.

43. No, Howard Dean does NOT say to write a new bill cutting taxes for the 98%.

Howard Dean said to let them ALL expire period because, in his opinion, it would be a short term pain to knock the debt down by 7.5 trillion and balance the budget in 2 years time.

they got in the 1950s. Corporations should return to the good old days of paying 25% if the Federal income too.

what have ed rendell's financial backers lost?
