Angus T. Jones - apologizes

Angus T. Jones has just issued a statement ... sorta, kinda apologizing for biting the hand that feeds him when he went off on "Two and a Half Men."

In his statement, Jones praises the honchos behind the sitcom ...saying, "Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them."

He goes on, "I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that."

As we previously reported, Jones appeared in a video with a man he considered a spiritual adviser and blasted "Men" ... calling the show "filth" and urging people not to watch it.

4. Some folks handle being child stars better than others.

Leo Dicapprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt did good.

The Different Strokes kids went another route.

Angus appear to be going the Kirk Cameron route.

5. A few months after "Men" is finally canceled - whenever that is

Expect him to start hanging around with Ray Comfort... Maybe doing a sequel to that banana video he and Kirk Cameron did.

7. And of course, it's a "non-apology apology"

He said "I apologize IF...."

(In other words, "I guess it sucks if some people made a big deal out of nothing over this".)

9. Oddly, it makes no difference to me.

I won't change my viewing habits on the advice of Angus T. Jones. That is to say, I won't stop not watching the show because he said I should start not watching.

If I remember my mythology correctly, Jesus once told a wealthy young man who wanted to go to heaven to give everything he owned to the poor. The young man went away greatly troubled. Perhaps that could give Angus food for thought, although I think not.

11. It's possible...

... that his church realized how much cash they'd be giving up if he was unable to "tithe" based on his, what, $350,000 per episode?

Sorry, kid, you can't unscrew the pooch. Go, go thou, and be another has-been in "christian" movies, tv, etc., and watch how quickly they proclaim you were once a STAR! Like Cameron, who finds his hands naturally wrap around bananas, 'cuz BabyJesus™.

because you're too sensitive.

13. That church requests that their poster boy continue to work at his "filthy" $350,000 per episode job

Whoa...10% tithe of that take is a lot of saved souls, you know.

to the people who paid him to make that "filthy" show! That would be a real act of contrition!

18. I once watched half an episode of that show.

15 minutes of unfunny. I have no idea how it stayed on the air this long.

19. The kid's 19, cut him some slack. And the show is filth.

But hell, so are a lot of shows on tv. Why bash the guy for realizing that and speaking his mind about it?
