If you could make elected democratic officials sign a pledge, what would it be?

The pledge covers only one issue. Your red line.

4. Does that mean no changes at all?

Or make sure it's not turned into a voucher?

11. Yes - no changes at all, but

monitor for fraud - that is a big problem that CAN be fixed.

6. hmm, honestly? Probably, Don't start any more fucking wars, invade any countries,

and let's mind our own damn business for a while. Of course, abandoning the drone program would be included in that. (It is morally bankrupt, DUH) I have had it up to here how we always have to control the whole world. Second, cut the military budget in half, and use the money to prop up and expand social safety net programs, that would be a part of it as well. I got other priorities as well, like nationalized health care and the environment, but stopping the killing and warring would be the first priority.

9. They must try living with Food Stamps and under our "safety net" (sic) for 3 - 6 months

before they are eligible to take the oath of office.

If they had even a CLUE what it means to be poor in this country...

Even considering that they already have homes, working appliances and the educational background that many poor folks do not - it would transform how our government educates, feeds, shelters, and delivers healthcare for our most vulnerable.

10. Uphold the Constitution...duh....

It is oath they take when they are sworn in as members of Congress. But the pukes ignore that if Grover Norquist is in the room.
