20. He's first and Kim Jong Un is second??? WTF???

Malala Yousafzai should be the Person of the Year! One full-fledged dictator and another one who just made the power grab...yet the girl who gets shot in the head for trying to go to school is in THIRD place! I understand that the politics is the reason for the first two, but come on, can't we give it to someone doing something good for a change?

8. When Bill Clinton was re-elected in 1996,

he was not selected as Person of the Year. Yet George Bush was when he was re-elected in 2004.

When Newt Gingrich took over as Speaker of the House, he was selected. Yet when Nancy Pelosi became the first female Speaker in the history of the country, she was not selected.

In the past 20 year, when a single person has been selected who is an elected official there have been 4 Republicans choosen and only 2 Democrats. If Time does not pick President Obama, they will have proven themselves to be as unbiased as Fox News.

11. They might not pick President Obama because he already got it 4 years ago when he won the first time

Did Bush get it in 2000 as well as 2004?

I heard a great idea the other day: the person of the year should be "the 47%".

Although now that Romney has 47% of the vote that might be misinterpreted.

21. But did Bush also get it in 2000?

Did he get it when we was first "elected", or only when he won the second time?

23. He got it both years.

In 2000 and 2004. Gingrich got it when he became Speaker of the House but Pelosi didn't.

15. You betcha.

It has nothing to do with what you mentioned, and everything to do with the story that shaped the mindset of the general public.

If it happened to be the most recent US election, so be it; however methinks that this is far from relevant.

The rest of the choices were mighty thin pickings.

19. The new "Demographic of voters"

The ones who stood in long lines. The ones they tried to obstruct, demoralize and demonize. They are the true people of the year.
