So The Final Election Result Is Obama 51% -Romney 47%

Gallup had it 50%-49% Romney and Rasmussen had it 49%-48% Romney.

They are either inept or corrupt.

It really doesn't matter. That's some sloppy social science.

edited Gallup and Rass results. Gallup was even more "craptastic" than I remembered.

2. Rasmussen And Gallup Are Two Of The Worst Pollsters

The only thing, imho, that separates them from ARG and Zogby is that they have bigger platforms.

15. I'm very happy to see Gallup exposed

They drove tons of bullshit Romentum coverage with their numbers. Not that it mattered in the end (which is another thing I'm happy about), but Frank Newport is a very biased individual and he and Gallup still have the NPR platform, not to mention the Gallup brand, which the horse-race happy MSM was all too eager to push because most people don't know any better. They're a menace.

3. And that was after Gallup "suspended" polling for a week

supposedly due to Hurricane Sandy, despite the fact that the Hurricane didn't impact 80% of the states.

They exposed their RW bias once and for all.

6. The likely

voter models need to be thrown out because they don't know who is a likely voter. Rasmussen doesn't even do registered voters. Gallup gave President Obama a three point lead with their registered voter model. I also suspect the exit Polls might be a little off now for white voters if they took a sample now because of the late votes coming from these storm areas. I wouldn't be surprised if president Obama got more than 39 percent.

It will come down exactly the same way next time. The MSM makes so much profit from political ads, they cannot afford to say "this isn't close"

16. As of 11/26, the 2012 National Popular Vote Tracker has Mitt at 47.49

Last edited Mon Nov 26, 2012, 05:27 PM - Edit history (5)

making it official:

With rounding, it is now technically true that Mitt really DID get "only" 47% of the vote. Of course, this also means that we now cannot say that he didn't accomplish anything...

UPDATE: AS OF 5PM EST 11/26, he is down to 47.47% -- how sweet it is!

18. I don't know how Rasmussen gets it's sampling, but

Gallup seems to poll in predominantly conservative states and places. As a west coast Californian, I have never been polled by either, yet friends of mine who live in fly over country in the USA are polled every election by Gallup on a frequent basis. It seems like Gallup is tipping the sampling to favor the side of those who are paying them.

Let's see if the Democrats cave and cuts social programs and entitlements. If they do, these numbers don't mean a damn thing.
