Mid Michigan got the first real snow of the season, last night

Between 1 and 2 inches on the ground. It's stopped but it's cold so the snow will be sticking so the slush will be slick. This is the earliest snow I can remember, in a long, long time. I'm sure the deer hunters are happy.

I'll be curious to hear about how many vehicle accidents happened, because people seem to forget how to drive on slick roads.

1. SE Wisconsin is now 265 days since last measurable snow...about a week behind

The storm MI got last night blew thru here leaving nothing to see.

We're still teetering on the brink of drought.

2. Do you mean local snow? Because northern Minnesota has had snow for several weeks.

5. I think we were caught in a heavy band of snow

My sister lives about 20 miles south of here and they got a light dusting while my lawn and care are still covered. Fortunately, it looks like the roads retained enough heat to melt the road snow.

4. Hmmm. We had a little snow here in east-central MA earlier in the month. All melted

within a day or two - well almost all. I noticed a very small lingering spot from what got piled up by the plows in the parking lot at work about a week ago.

Last year we had a pretty big storm that caused Halloween to be cancelled. That was the earliest snow storm that I can recall in this area.

6. A good inch or so here in the Manistee Nat'l Forest.

That's western Michigan, Newaygo county.

It's below freezing, so it'll stick. The roads here are not paved, so the snow sticks there, too. Gotta go into town today for groceries. Will take it easy peezy.
