Kenya: Importation of GMOs Banned

The government has banned the importation of GMOS citing insufficient scientific evidence on the safety of the food. Public Health minister Beth Mugo says the government has commissioned a task force to carry out research on GMO safety before lifting the ban. She has directed health officers at all border points to effect the ban.

But our corporate driven societal paradigm has America all touchy feely about GMO's and the oil industry being a great boon to health and prosperity. Dear, may have another cup of 30 weight?

1. I wish we had a government agency that protected the safety of our food

The recent news that Kaiser came out against the use of GMOs in our food supply, probably because they realized it was making people sick and costing them money, was a promising step forward.

I am so excited to realize that once health corporations realize it is costing them money, they will use their money to fight this battle.

There really is hope of getting this crap out of our food supply.

Who the hell really thought it a good idea to splice e-coli and roundup in our food?

How could the FDA possibly make it legal without testing for safety? If they aren't evaluating safety, what are they doing?

5. Good for them.

But if politicians everywhere else can be bought by Big Agra, then I'm sure the cheques are already in the mail to Kenya.
