2. Ha, ha, that was a funny show. Poor turkeys TG it wasn't real.

However, I have seen wild turkeys fly into trees, but I suppose that's all they can do.

7. Apparently wild turkeys can fly for very short distances in bursts of speed up to 55mph.

http://www.livescience.com/7630-5-surprising-turkey-facts.html

Funny as hell, my aunt and uncle used to own a turkey farm and I never knew they didn't fly.

29. Hiking in the woods once, I had a wild turkey take off twenty feet from me.

It sounded like a bomb detonating.

44. Yes, I've had that experience many times.

One morning on opening day of deer season, for example, I walked through a grove of balsam firs, and they launched themselves into the air one after another. If you've ever kicked up a ruffed grouse, just imagine a bird that weighs 20 times as much beating its way up into the air. They scare the hell out of you.

8. One flew in front of my car for about 100 yards, recently

Came out of a vineyard, glanced sideways at me and stayed maybe six feet in front of me and a foot higher than the hood of my car.

Way cool.

40. One flew into my WINDSHIELD a couple of years ago.

It must have survived, because I couldn't find it when I stopped and looked around.

That same autumn, another one ALMOST hit my windshield in a different spot. Got a good look at that one because it was a wide-open field and I had time to hit the brakes

Clearly not enough flight capability to survive a drop from a helicopter.

They dubbed different voices and music prior to syndication. Below is a link to the original "complete with Pink Floyd!"

Wow - that opening brings back memories. Haven't heard that in eons. If I could embed that, I would edit the OP. Thanks for the link! They should have put that on YouTube.

Happy Thanksgiving, PSPS.

39. They didn't REALLY drop turkeys...they just described what it would look like.

But then...that's probably just because the episode wasn't directed by John Landis.

The chicken valiantly tried to fly for a while, then finally folded its wings and plummeted to the ground at terminal velocity.

giving a speech with a man killing turkeys in the backgroung. They then showed that clip. It is so hilarious.

37. WKRP even predicted centralization of radio programming

On an episode where Venus was offered a job at a WKRP competitor but turns it down:
Wanting to make more of his career, he considers accepting the job of program director at WKRP's urban contemporary-formatted competitor, WREQ, an all-automated station where all the programming decisions are made from corporate headquarters. He turns down the job when he finds out that the station only wants him so it can have a token black employee.
