Question about coverage under the ACA
My college son works part time for a privately owned company with more then 50 employees. Will his employer be required to provide insurance for him, even though he is covered under our insurance until he is 26? Does anyone know how that works? Will his employer be able to get a waiver?

1. His company has to offer it to him, doesn't have to "provide" it to him. He can opt out and stay on
your insurance and it's no big deal to anybody.

5. I did not realize that.
When did that change? I know the Papa John's CEO was talking about cutting people from 35 to 34 hours per week to avoid Obamacare. Was he just wrong about how many hours would trigger the obligation?

6. Apparently the IRS released the rule on Aug. 12, 2012...
26 USC § 4980H - Shared responsibility for employers regarding health coverage
The term “full-time employee” means, with respect to any month, an employee who is employed on average at least 30 hours of service per week.
