1. that is the intention when it comes to government

They screw it up to try to prove their case that government is inefficient. FEMA under Bush was a prime example of that. But when it comes to some of these so-called business decisions, they are just idiots.

2. I agree with the previous poster - it is intentional

They destroy public education, which proves that education should be privatized. They destroy FEMA, which proves that emergency management should be privatized. This is all a ploy to privatize everything. If it isn't already private, then it is a ploy to deregulate. They want the government to do almost nothing, they want all business completely de-regulated.

4. The leaders are doing it intentionally, but what is the excuse of the idiot followers?

So heavily invested in the stupid, they can't turn back now?

At some point, they are going to realize that their own party has been playing them for fools....and I hope they are just as raging and maniacally angry at their own leaders as they have been at us for no reason.

6. It's been framed in a way that sucks them in.

They call only the most radical extreme version of capitalism "Capitalism", and everything even slightly to the left of that is, by their framing "Socialism." By their definition, Eisenhower would have been socialists. But the word "socialist" is powerful when used as a marketing tool. I've seen Facebook posts by Christians saying that the Bible advocates Capitalism and Jesus (a Socialist) would weep at Obama's election because Socialism.

It's all marketing.

7. Marketing that creates political "brand loyalty"

The deeper and longer their followers have been loyal to "their team", the less likely they'll think critically enough to see they were just tools for the plutocracy. All the more so if they were pushy and vociferous about their tribalism.

8. but then they fall off the deep end with 'rape is God's will' and then what do people do?

something has to finally push them to realize...

I almost feel sorry for them. Their party is making them look like evil hypocritical fools.

I would feel sorry for them if they just admitted they are wrong, about everything, and that they are sorry, about everything, and promise that they are not going to behave like 3 year olds anymore.

Then we can help them pick themselves up off the floor, help them do a little research, perhaps start making decisions based on facts and history rather than emotional illogical blind rage.

9. It's like reasoning with a ranting angry drunk full of righteous indignation

Lots of fire in the belly, and it feels good to them, and the more reasonable and rational you are to them, the madder and more stubborn they get. Not just because you're countering them, but because they know if they were to think things through without clouded judgement, they'll have that good feeling of righteous indignation yanked right out from under them.

3. they say they are for family values, then proceed to destroy millions of families

If they could present one bit of evidence that they have been right about anything....we're listening....

It you prove they are wrong, they just say 'I reject that' and continue on with what they would like to believe.
