The Romney Readiness Project as described by MSNBC.com

reads on the surface like a dainty process for ensuring the smooth transition from one fine man to the next...typical "fine" journalism, wherein no one bothers to ask a follow-up question, like "What was the political thrust of the work completed?"

The sentence I found fascinating was that which described the fact that they had already written Executive Orders. We can only imagine what these orders would have meant to the average woman and man in these United States. My guess, no, my assertion, is that they included removal of many of the linchpins of the Federal Government's scaffolding which keeps us free, healthy, in control of our own lives to the extent that we still are, and able to pursue what ever we wish, again, to the same extent that we already can.

This guy was a grave danger to Liberty, make no mistake about it. His blank slate, his Etch-A-Sketch mentality and ability to lie at will, to insult at will, to denigrate at will and to destroy at will all in the name of his God: no not THAT God, the other one, the one with the picture of Benjamin Franklin on it. I firmly believe that now that he has been relegated to the Rethug Dustbin by his own Rethug Party, for crying out loud, we will begin to hear tales of his mental incapacities which I and many others have sensed all along. This was a disgraceful candidate who ran a disgraceful race, unbecoming and offensive to anyone who had a shred of decency or common sense. On top of all my emotions concerning this election, I am just perplexed. The only rationale I can envision for running a campaign in the fashion in which he did is that he knew, or thought he knew, that it was a rigged game, and he really didn't count on losing, not because he was confident in himself, but because he was told that it was in the bag. The last time I heard about something like this was the tale that when Nixon went down to the Pepsi shareholders' meeting in Dallas, Texas in November of 1963, he was approached to run for the Presidency again. He demurred, stating that the Kennedys had a stranglehold on the White House for years to come, and he was met with the reply, paraphrased, that "things can change in that regard." Apocryphal? Maybe. The truth? Quite. Romney had the same assurances - he did not assume that all by his lonesome, in my humble opinion.

1. Well, if he did, I'm delighted he was disappointed.

And possibly a little fearful of his plans for the rest of his life.

5. Great point. What also stuck out at me is

that Mitt was the first to use a law allowing a transition team government support.

Imagine that: The guy who consistently slammed "big government" and advocated that half the population are nothing but moochers living off the government, accepts more "gifts."

The preparations were enabled by a 2010 law, the “Pre-Election Presidential Transition Act,” which afforded Romney (along with any other future nominees) government support and office space to begin the arduous work of planning a handover of government. Officials in the transition team were allowed use of a government email address ending in “@ptt.gov.”

6. I believe this is probable. Just because some CTs aren't true, doesn't mean that all are crazy.

Of course there are conspiracies in this world at all levels, and most of the time. Motive is the issue. I will never be convinced that:

Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I was around in 1963 and pretty much everybody thought there was a cover-up. Because it was OBVIOUS! The incidentals of this murder will never be known, but the broad outline that this WAS a conspiracy is, IMO, undeniable concerning the facts. The Warren Commission defenders forget that the 1978 House Assassinations investigation concluded that Oswald didn't act alone. The Assassination Records Review Board went further in the '90's. If you don't keep up, don't just believe some shows on the Discovery Channel. They go to lengths to prove that the single bullet came from that window on the 6th Floor -- but nobody ever was able to put Oswald in that window, according to Police Chief Jesse Curry in 1969. It's not open and shut by any means. And I have read the report and the volumes of exhibits, which don't match.

George Bush didn't engineer an October Surprise in 1980. Events definitely point to a deal to keep the hostages until Reagan was inaugurated. This resulted in Iran-Contra. Why would Reagan have sold missile parts to Iran, otherwise?

And as of this moment, I'm not discounting that there was a RW plot to steal the 2012 election, including using some of the top military extremists, if necessary. Look what happened in the 1930's with the attempted coup against Roosevelt. We know it happened. We know it's been covered up tidily for the general population. Fascists abide. And they conspire. Deny it at your peril.

12. The Last Paragraph In Your Post Struck Me In Light Of The Petraeus Affair.......

Which brings me to this question:

Has Broadwell's father made any more statements since the one in :which he implied that something else was going on?

Here is what I found about what he said:

Paula Broadwell’s father Paul Kranz, a retired high school basketball coach, suggested on Sunday that the explosive revelations that led to David Petraeus resigning as CIA director, have been used to cover up a bigger scandal.

Paul Kranz told the Daily News: “This is about something else entirely, and the truth will come out.”

Have we heard from him since?

7. An ignorant sociopath who enjoyed the best ''education'' money can buy...

...and he doesn't know a thing about America, other than to grab all he can, as fast as he can, by whatever means necessary.

That was a central theme of The War Wagon and for Mitt's brand of Manifest Destiny.

Thank you for the heads up on his plans and XOs, Doctor. Mitt thought his side had paid more than enough to win.

9. I agree...he thought the fix was in.

So he was unconcerned about what he did....and could devote his time to planing the presidency...I am sure Ann was picking out china and drapes already.
IMHO Karl Rove was the architect of it all with 300 million to spend and he thought he had it in the bag because it had worked before....but someone or some thing fucked him up....and whoever that is or what ever that was I love it and them and consider them American heroes.

13. One of the heroes is the person who secretly filmed the 47% speech that Romney gave in Florida.

I believe that that was a turning point in the election. My sister, who lives in a deep red rural county in Ohio, told me that a lot of people in her community saw the video and were disgusted. They told her that they could not support Romney after that.

And we may never know them or be able to thank them personally or enough....but there is reward knowing you did a great thing even if others don't.

10. As far as Mitt is concerned I don't know if he was aware enough to believe it was rigged

I think part of his arrogance was his belief in the Mormon "Prophecy" he was to fulfill. That alone would explain his arrogance and total disbelief that he lost.

16. We don't scare easily in my family

but Rmoney's dismissal of half of all Americans scared me to death. The Bushes had some human characteristics, Rmoneys, none! "It's our turn now" Ann sent a message of entitlement to the rest of us. We dodged a bullet here and we better stay on our toes.
