Why I want Allen West to formally concede.

As one might tell, I've taken a keen interest in the apparent defeat of Allen West by newcomer Patrick Murphy in the race for Florida House 18. To me, West has been one of the most loathsome, disgusting and hateful politicians ever elected to office in recent memory.

Many people have pointed out that West need not concede for Murphy to win, and that they do not expect West to concede.

Legally they are correct about the first part, and I believe such concerns about the second part are quite possible.

That being said, I want Allen West to concede. Formally. In a written or verbal statement, whatever. But he needs to face the music.

Why do I want Allen West to concede?

Because for years he has said the most outrageous, offensive and ridiculous things without any respect to reality or to the truth. His infamous claim that there were 80 members of the Communist Party in Congress is just one of many such statements.

And I want for him to say something, for once, that actually reflects reality.

And that reality is that he lost. And that he will not be serving in the upcoming session of Congress.

I want him to say that. That's the one true, honest thing he could actually say.
