The gutless wonder was a robot pilot who would napalm villages in Vietnam.
The gutless wonder was not popular. People didn't like him.
But that was because he had bad breath. Once his halitosis was cleared up, he became popular.
Humans are bothered by things like bad breath and marital infidelity.
Not so much by other humans getting blown to pieces.
