12. Aung San Suu Kyi is one of my heroes

A lot of times, it takes people like laboring and suffering for years without attribution or fame, and with meager support in order to fight corrupt powers. Although she could have used the circumstances of her birth to further herself and her family, she chose to stay and fight.

that so many people, politicians, and assholes in this country are squandering our chance as a nation to celebrate a truly great leader and president, if they would just let him lead.

25. you hear stories now and then about how aloof and separate the President can be

- stories from both the left and the right, that's he sort of stuck up and stuff.

lol. I bet it's because he doesn't want to hang out with the snobs and assholes and they have to take a jab at him for that because looking at these pictures there is not one fake smile or anything fake coming from that man.

He is genuinely freaking awesome with people.

and crap.

I am astounded by the people who can't tell the difference.....and I'm glad to be among the ones who knew early on. (Even though it's frustrating to be ahead of the curve.)

20. What Secretary of State Clinton and the President have been able to accomplish in Burma (yes Burma)

is one of the most dramatic examples of persistent quiet diplomacy. Working with ASEAN they got the military to give up absolute power and walk towards democracy.

Obviously this trip to Burma was one of the carrrots.

It serves as a real example of what could happen in North Korea. The real audience for these pictures is the power elite in North Korea. They are saying "If you take a step towards us we will respond." There are big hurdles ahead for Burma but getting Ann San Suu Kyi out of house arrest and back into the political stage is nothing short of a miracle.

It is most unfortunate that to do so the President had to go through Thailand and meet Yingluck Shinawatra who is the faux stand in prime minister for the evil Thaksin, who cannot return to Thailand because of the criminal charges surrounding the billions that he swindled as prime minister. Sometimes you have to pose with the devil to do the work of the angels.

For what you have done for Burma, for the lives you have saved in averting a certain civil war, Secretary of State Clinton and President Obama will be remembered by all peace loving people of southeast Asia.

It's easy for us to forget all the behind-the-scenes work that our President and Secretary of State have directed and participated in.

The historical importance of these events and their roles in them cannot be underestimated.

You are the Legend Hero of our World.

made me tear up.

This man is the best possible president for these times. He constantly amazes me with his good character and charm and obvious interest in the human condition of all the world.

We are so damn lucky it is him and no one else at the helm at this point in time.

I have the same reaction of tears in my eyes for pride in him -- his kindness, class, sincerity, genuineness, and caring for all -- and for hope for the people around the world who have hope in the United States again because of him.

What an incredible collection of historic pictures!

35. there is no oil there....

Whats he doing over there?

Seriously, that is what we would expect from Bush. President Obama is reaching out to the new democracies around the world to show them what is possible.

Seriously, having a African American as president in the US is a big deal. It shows that anything is possible if you set the rules so that anyone can aspire to leadership. It's the best example of what the US represents; anything can happen if you let freedom flourish.

I know, I know, I sound like some dewey eyed kid who has never tasted the reality of our country. But I have and so I know that the Obama election came exactly at the same time.

Think about it, we could have had one term of Bush, two of Clinton, two of Bush and then two of Clinton. It really could have happened.

I think that having Senator Obama reach out and take the reigns of power from media proclaimed dynasties will bode very well with our future.
