A refresher for those out there who have been praising him

--

But it's important for Americans to remember that Christie -- who is widely believed to have presidential aspirations in 2016 -- is not a moderate Republican. During his time in office, he has pursued a staunchly right-wing agenda that has taken aim at workers, the environment, education, and other areas of American life.

Here's five reasons Christie is not a moderate:

4. New Jersey knew this all along

Which is very important that Democrats across the country stop Chris Christie in his tracks when they have a chance to--- next year at the ballot box when he can be defeated.

I'll keep people updated as soon as a candidate declares. Right now my money is on Newark mayor Cory Booker.

5. Ol Crispy is just the flavor of the month here on DU ...

... we lurve him because he praised POTUS and probably helped crash the Mitt-Mobile. Oh and he was kinda humorous on SNL.

Give us a few weeks, we'll hate him again.

Tire treads from being perched atop, and then thrown under, the bus are commonplace here.

6. One group I've seen that hasn't turned to his favor

Is people actually in New Jersey. They remember how much he has hurt the middle class.

7. Why the hell is he so popular in NJ? His ratings were pretty high even before Sandy.

NJ is not a conservative state. His popularity befuddles me.

9. Because the Legislature in NJ is a bit screwed up. They refuse to listen to some of the

good government progressives among them while adhering to a system of patronage. The legislature's leaders actions gives Christie an opening.

11. Yeah, he got in for political reasons...but why do the public like him?

What has he done for the people?

8. I agree. The people and the positions that he support are right-wing. If Christie has had a real

revelation that has changed him for the better, then he can be useful to the national dialog. The jury is still out for me.

10. Crisco is going to have the same problem in NJ as his former idol, Mittens

He's been downright horrible towards unions, his handling of the Second Avenue tunnel has been atrocious, Xanadu.. and others. What we are seeing right now, is Crisco trying to change his image in public to get a higher profile. Also, he's banking on voters having a short memory in state.

I didn't vote for him the first time and won't vote for him in 2014. But he is entertaining.

13. Many on DU believe "moderate" means not a blatant bigot that is openly hell bent on theocracy

Maybe not even that, they love declaring Anthony Kennedy as "moderate".

Hell, they are enamored with Huntsman, like Crist, and probably would cal Reagan "moderate" except for the beatdowns they'd get and such a talking point would expose the Republican slip beneath their "centrist" skirts.
